Shanyn is a new, and very talented, self-published author with two more novels upcoming. I’m anxious to read them when they come out. Old Enough to Know Better is her first book.

The first two paragraphs hooked and kept me slogging through the boring backstory that filled the rest of that page and the next two pages of the novel—good thing, because what followed completely reeled me in. I couldn’t put the book down, even though it’s 478 pag

I purchased this novel for my Kindle on the referral from a friend who had read another one of Shanyn's stories. The plot line was intriguing (since I am the same age as Mel), and I found myself wondering if I would make similar choices if I were in her shoes. Overall it was a fun read and I flew through it in two days! I will definitely look into reading Shanyn's other books.

I was actually disappointed with this book. The general storyline was good and I liked the characters well enough but I felt that there were a lot of loose ends within the story. When I reached the end of the book I was expecting a conclusion but it just ended on a real anti-climax. This is not a book I'd recommend at all.

Born and raised in small-town, rural Indiana, I now live in metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona with an intimidatingly smart and devastatingly handsome husband, two hyperactively cute and talented sons who will one day be Earth's Overlords (never underestimate the power of Legos), and an emotionally needy, neurotic chocolate lab. I enjoy cooking, traveling, gardening, sewing, quilting, and embroidery ...more
