Cute, but not excessively so, and the watercolors are worth more than the glances the poetry allows. The message of these is intended for someone between elementary and middle school, I think, though the ending is perhaps a little shocking for someone under 10 - depending upon your kid. My only complaint would be that I would have liked to have seen more third act focus on the actual protagonists and not their parents. Cool reveal, but too much time spent.
