If you like genteel, twee smugness you'll love this book. If your lamp sits "atop" a table, you "muse over aphorisms" in bed at night, you "spit pips delicately into your napkin" and your day is filled with discussing Philosophy, Art, Culture and Religion (often in Italian with no translation for us ignoramuses) then you will enjoy reading this. I only finished it because I thought it just had to improve as it went on. It didn't.
