I absolutely loved this book! I'm currently preparing for a mission, and this book opened my eyes to things that are likely to happen on my mission that I hadn't thought of previously. I loved reading the stories and insights of other sister missionaries. This truly was a beneficial read for me. I'd highly recommend it to ANY sister preparing for or even just thinking about a mission!
This book (not to be confused with the recent autobiographical movie of the same name) deserves a superlative review and a new cover. Amy Finnegan gives a compelling, insightful and thorough overview of the lady missionary's experience from the period before the choice through to the end of the mission and beyond. It is liberally illustrated with personal anecdotes drawn from both the author's own experience and that of a number of other women. To me it makes immensely fulfilling reading for any...more
