Douglas Coupland, I adore your writing and you design books with layout and photography and an aesthetic that is exactly how I would design books, had I the subject matter, the focus and the talent. This book was beautiful, featuring another Canadian icon whose cross-country run inspired the nation before his cancer ended the journey. This book speaks to Canadians with the moments and small memories of appreciation, including photos of Terry Fox's mother's datebook with her notation for his surg

This coffee-table book is absolutely incredible!! With lifesized, full-page, full-color photographs of Marathon of Hope artifacts on plain white backgrounds, it produces a very convincing, even startling, illusion of being an enclosure book, along the lines of "The Lennon Legend" - in a room with muted enough lighting to neutralize the gloss of printed paper, you might actually find yourself reaching out to lift some of these objects from their pages! And what "objects" they

A really lovely, picture-enhanced account of Terry Fox and his run across Canada to raise money and awareness for cancer research. The only problem with it, really, is that it assumes you know who Fox was and the basic details of his story—I knew, vaguely, but I wish there'd been a bit more background about him. (Basically: Fox, an enthusiastic athlete, was diagnosed with cancer when he was in college; he had to have his leg amputated. He immediately started retraining with a prosthetic leg, the

A lovely, heart-warming picture book that takes us back to a more innocent age...and reintroduces us to a Canadian hero who deserves EVEN MORE praise than he usually receives. So many young people today have no idea who Terry Fox IS...and this is the type of book they should read in order to re-discover this courageous young man. Douglas Coupland brings a wonderful mix of minimalism and nostalgia to the design & presentation of each and every page.

This is the story of a man who stood up against the odds and fought hard to bring change and hope, and it's also about a nation that returned that hope back to him. I liked looking at all the artifacts and letters from his journey.

Fantastic! I loved it. I may be a little iffy on whether I like Douglas Coupland's novels sometimes, but I love his non-fiction coffee photography books. And reading about Terry Fox is always inspiring.

A great Canadian and a great Canadian coffee table book. I went to a "reading" of this with Coupland and Terry's brother both presenting in Vancouver. All Canadian households should have a copy.

This was one of the books I read when I was lacking an internet connection. It can be read easily within the space of an hour or so and as you might expect, Coupland shows us pictures of everything from Terry's worn out socks to letters Canadian children wrote to encourage him as he ran to unite the entire country. And, if you don't know the story of Terry Fox, it's one that is incredibly inspiring to me and gives me ultimate faith in humanity.

I'm glad someone put all of the memorabilia together. It takes me right back to the day Terry pulled off the road in Thunder Bay.
