Captain Matteo Scarpone (Borgo PD, former Carabinieri) & his fellow officers: Belluzzi (Borgo PD), Enzo (Borgo PD), D’Orazio, (Borgo PD, aka fat cop), Rolando (Borgo PD, aka foulmouthed, aka horseface), & Claudia Cavalcanti (CSI). I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway.

A paranormal murder mystery set in Italy. Need I say more? I couldn't put it down and it was excellent in every sense. The characters are interesting, the writing is captivating, and the story overall was a unique experience that won't disappoint. I definitely recommend reading this.

On the surface, this novel is just a murder mystery. But there is so much more just beneath the surface, and to mention it all would give too much away, so I'll just say if you liked D'Agnese's THE MESMERIST, you'll love this book. And if you haven't read THE MESMERIST, check out both that book and this one. You'll be happy you did.

I wouldn't classify this book as a paranormal mystery, its a crime mystery with some paranormal bits mixed in. The Italian setting is what sets this book apart and bumps it to a 3 rather than 2 star book.

I received a copy of this book in a goodreads giveaway.
