This is a nice story of a young boy cat who wants to explore and to be brave like his missing father.

There are useful lessons for young people. For instance when he meets other cats they pretend that he must pass tests of skill and strength to join their group, although we find that nobody else had to pass tests.

The main issue I had was that two names Sammy and Sunny are too similar and can cause confusion. Otherwise, the cat behaviour is well observed and the adventure should be enjoyed by pe

One of my childhood favorites. I remember reading this ratty, second hand copy I have numerous times, and now, many years later, the only thing I can remember from it is that I used to love it!

Colin Dann (born 1943 in Richmond, Surrey (now part of London)) is an English author. He is best known for his The Animals of Farthing Wood series of books, which was subsequently made into an animated series.
