Here we have another one of those ridiculous, random Dora plots where, in order to become a princess, Dora must find a ring in a fish tank and walk on smiling stars to the half moon and that sort of thing. And all to wake up Sleeping Boots. I know the kids love it; I know Dora teaches simple first/then directions and sequencing of events. I know my kids love them, but the writing is so banal and the plots are so pointless that they make for painful children's literature on the part of a parent. ...more
Mom of Awesome
Dora never fails. This story isn't too short or too long, and the kids really enjoyed it.

this book is pretty cute. it lumps fairy tales together and sends dora an an adventure to save boots. (omg spoilers)
one of the books i'm least annoyed about reading several times in a row, for all you nannies and parents out there.

This is our October nightly read..
This one is especially cute with nice, glossy pictures. I particularly like how Dora always has to go through a set of steps to reach her goal.

Recommends it for: parents, reading to their little ones
Our girls have seen the movie, played the game and read the book about Princessa Dora. Seems like they just can't get enough of this little adventurer.

I liked how they played with the gender tropes of fairytales.
