I didn't like this one as well as I did Hard Contact. Let me tell you why. I'm a more of relationships reader not an action reader. Yes I want there to be action but I don't want it to be the main story of the book and it is in this one. I'm not going to write a plot summary because so many already have written about it. I loved how Ms. Traviss brought the other characters that were mentioned in Hard Contact into this book especially Kal and Orbo. I loved how you found out more about how the clo...more

This is actually the 3rd book, but I reviewed them here.

This is actually pretty deep, intriguing stuff from a series based on video games based on popular sci-fi movies. (Although, if you don't like military tactics and action, you won't like this series.) I was simultaneously reading Allegiance which takes place 21-22 years after this, right after Episode 4. I hadn't given thought to how the clone army of Episode 3 becomes the human recruit army of the later episodes, or really even the...more

The Star Wars Republic Commando series is pretty darn good. I was expecting a shoot 'em up war saga, but was rather surprised to find that it focuses a lot on the personal and emotional aspect of the clones. What are they going to do after the war? Why aren't they given any of the rights accorded to other beings in the galaxy? A good portion of the series delves into these concepts, and deals with the lives that the clones touch. Those other (non-clone) characters are very intriguing and th...more

Gets into the whole moral issues of a clone army. There is also some great back story to the Commandos. At times I felt Travis hammered the moral issues over and over. Still its a fun read - especially when they compare Mandolarians and Jedi. The plot twists/surprises are interesting. If you read Bloodlines its not hard to see where things are heading when the 3rd book of this series hits. If you do not like clones or Mandolorians do not event bother reading it.

The third in the Republic Commando series. The author is good at characterization, and in this one, we find out even more about how shafted the Clones are going to get by the Republic. If you can ignore the I loves me Mandalorians a bit much, the book is good. And yes, it doesn't get 4 stars because the Mandalorian love fest is a bit much.

More Republic Commando goodness. True Colors continues the story line of Hard Contact and Triple Zero. This one was a well-told story of belonging and community among clones and Jedi. Throw in some musings on fatherhood and ethics and you have quite the enjoyable tale.

If you haven't checked out this series then you are missing out. This is a gem in the Star Wars EU. Karen Tavis is quickly becoming one of my favorite Star Wars authors.

Be sure to read Hard Contact and Triple Zero first.

The characterization is very light in this book, you will need to know the characters from the previous Republic Commando books. Suggest re-reading the last right before this one, and you might enjoy more than I did.

i don't really have much to say
or rather I'm too lazy to say anything.
However, I will mention that Triple Zero
isn't quite as thrilling as the first book.

Not as good as the two books that preceeded it in the series, but it satiated my secret inner-Star Wars-geek.
