When I first started reading the gossip girl series, I thought they were brilliant. It offered excitement, betrayal and friendship, among other things. But as the series has progressed, it seems Cecily von Ziegesar has run out of ideas. The will-they-won't-they relationship of Blair and Nate/ Serena and Nate has begun to get irritating, and the constant shakiness of Blair and Serena's friendship, likewise Vanessa and Dan's relationship, is off-putting. This book, like the last few, has become ra...more

The character of Lord Marcus Beaton-Rhodes is introduced in Nothing Can Keep Us Together. He becomes the new boyfriend of Blair and is often described as a “hotter, taller, more refined, better-bred, British version of Nate…”. Lord Marcus is a Yale graduate and comes from a wealthy background. He even refers to designer Oscar de la Renta as “Uncle Oscar”. A filmmaker, Ken Mogul is back as he is directing a modernized version of Breakfast At Tiffanys entitled Breakfast At Fred’s set at the restau...more

Well, this read was bittersweet. I read to the 8th in a series for my Goodreads challenge, but I had always wanted to read the books behind the Gossip Girl tv show.

I had an internal debate as to whether I should finish the series. But after reading that the rest of the books in the series were written by ghost writers I lost my motivation to finish the whole thing. PLUS there is a rather large pile of books I have read and checked out from the library sitting next to my nightstand!

So this book w...more

If I remember correctly, I think it was about everyone going off for summer vacation. Actually it was kind of sad, because hardly any couples were together (like Blair and Nate)!! It was good, although I would have liked it better if there was more romance... even though that sounds really weird. I am excited to read the last two books in the series, and the next one that I think is coming out this fall! When I first picked up this series, I didn't think I would like it, but it turns out that I...more

This book was really interesting. In the book, I thought it was weird because everyones feelings changed about eachother towards the end of the book. Serena and Blair made up by the end (and kissed?!). Blair was mad at Serena because she stole her boyfriend from her, and her role in Breakfast at Freds, a remake of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Jenny was kind of all over the place trying to be cool and all. She even got kicked out of Constance because parents were complaining about her. I was surprised...more

The name of this book is called Nothing can keep us together By Cecily Von Ziegesar. Its another one of those gossip girl series that you just cant get enough of. It about the upper east side and the people there. Its pretty intense because its almost graduation and its time to know if Blair got in Yale or not. And does the affair that Nate is having with another woman going to be revealed? Now that everyone is into college its time to party and have more fun than possible. Blair gets a new boy...more

It was a thrilling read. I was really surprised on how some characters turned out to be or how their personalities are evolving. Vanessa was pretty scandalous, Dan was overly dramatic and if I might say, 'love drunk,' Nate was too emotional, Jenny wants change, and our two favorite girls, Serena and Blair, were pretty much themselves. But I'm still waiting for Chuck Bass. When will he be part of the real drama? I'm starting to feel the disappointment with regard to Chuck's character's lack of in...more

For some reason I am absolutely addicted to this series. I need to check out the tv show too, but right now the books are enough for me.

Nothing Can Keep Us Together is another deliciously decadent installment in the Gossip Girl series following primarily Serena, Nate and Blair, but an additional cast of friends and misfits too. I love how this series has the different types and how this one book in particular shows that all the types no matter the outward display pretty much feel the same toward...more

I am too old and too poor and too jaded to be reading these books and yet, unperturbed, I keep buying them second hand from Amazon and reading them all the same. They are terrible and inappropriate and, like all the best books, far too old for the people who are actually reading them seriously.

I am not recommending them to you or anyone(especially not your twelve year old sister) but hey: I'm gonna read them all anyway. I'm gonna read them with no thought for my poor brain cells screaming in ag...more

Was it just me or was senior year incredibly long? It took the author FOREVER to reach the graduation ceremony. Not only that, but the characters were just circling around in their obnoxious behavior like always. Except, what was with Nate crying all the time? He went from total stoner hard ass to a complete pansy. Every time he started to cry over something completely unnecessary, I wanted to reach into the book and slap him across the face. Anyways, there really was nothing new per say in this...more

How I Came To Read This Book: I own the rest of the series.

The Plot: So our core cast is getting very close to college, and this filler-esque book solves the biggest college question of them all surrounding Blair’s fate (who incidentally, is dabbling in things with Nate again). As a sideplot to end all sideplots, Jenny is somewhat written out of the books in anticipation of the ‘It Girl’ spin-off series that would save her from exile as the original series came to an end a few books later (too...more

Gossip girls is the best book. Its about 3 best friends and having such a good time together. These girls like to party and like to mingle with boys. There is a lot of drama. These girls pretty much can do whatever they want but it always leads to more drama. These girls drink=[. There pretty bad. Some of the girls are like school girls. If they do there work in school and good grades they get to do whatever. But if they don't they don't get to do much. Practically everynight there...more

After writing my master thesis in fashion studies on models in youth literature in 1961 (Sara Gay Model Girl), I am now reading contemporary books on the subject as part of my research. Fashion, and indeed models, are frequent in contemporary young adult literature and series books. I am interested in the portrayal of the profession and the values presented at the beginning of the 2nd wave of feminism - ca 1961 - and early 21th century.

I can't believe I actually read this book. I got it for free, and only took it because one of my students was reading it and I was curious about how appropriate it was for a twelve year old. NOT! It was hard for me to start reading it, but once I finally got into it, it held my interest just enough to finish it. Shallow yet amusing. Definitely not for younger readers, though sadly, that is probably who is reading this series.

I'm selling these books this weekend, so I thought I would read them through before I get rid of them. I can't really hate on this series, because it is what you would expect. It's not trying to be a great work of art, it's a series for pre-teen girls that gives them an amazingly wrong perception of high school. It's a fun read, I guess. I'm kind of past the target audience now, but I remember liking them when I was younger.

In this instalment of GG - Blair and Serena are fighting over Nate's and Serena's betrayal but graduation is also coming up which sets the scene for an interesting book. There is steady character development from all characters and Blair finds another beau which allows her to be friends with Serena and Nate again. These books are a shallow trashy read and can't wait for the next one when the gang heads off to college and J is heading to boarding school to get into mischief Serena style!

The book, Nothing Can Keep Us Together, is a story about strenghth and friendship. It made me want to laugh, and cry to, because they were graduating. I think this story, is for girls who care about friendships. Its defiantly a great book to read. I couldnt of choosen a better book, to read, its funny, and confidence building all together. I loved it, and i know so will anyone else.

This book is only for people who can keep with with a lot of events happening all at the same time. There are multiple characters in this book; they are somehow all connected together and they all want only one thing. To get their high school diploma and graduate together. This book does have a happy ending so if you are a happy ending fan you should definitly read this book.

this is definetly one of my favorite books cant wait to go to the library and get the next book ...
in the start of the book Blair finds Nate and Serena in the shower kissing. two love triangles. the first love triangle is Blair deciding between Serena and Nate then Vannessa dosen't know who to pick between Aron and Dan

This book moves the plot of the Gossip Girl series along nicely. The author does a good job with the plots for each character even if you want to slap Nate and tell him to get over it. I wish the publisher had spotted more of the grammar and spelling errors, but at least the author kept the story straight in this one.

Nate is an idiot, So in Dan. Jenny is going for it in all ways - u go girl! Blair is pretending with this english lord but i see trouble ahead. Serena is herself.
i like Blair and Serena but they are both o selfish and insecure. although gotta love B's Audrey obsession. the girl has taste (in women anyway)

I liked this book because it was a Gossip Girl novel, like Because I'm Worth It. I noticed how the author tried to write as if she was still a teenager. I rate this book as an A+ because I really liked it and it was a good book for me. The genre of this book is a good genre for me because I like teen drama and I think the genre of this book is teen drama.

Picks up where book 7 leaves off. This book revolves around graduation. As always there are some scandals...
-a boy that may not graduate due to a theft at school
-another boy that declares his love for a girl by announcing he will skip college to stay in the city with the girl he loves
-a on-again/off-again couple are off-again and he has a new girlfriend
-a girl has snagged herself the main of her dreams.
The book ends with the graduation night party where most everything changes yet again!

Gossip Girl books leave you completely in suspense or wondering what will occur in the next book. This book left me astonsihed and even upset for one character. The book was about Blair and Serena, two best friends, going head-to-head to be cast in a major Hollywood production. I think that the descion of who gets the part (Serena or Blair) was a really poor one on the directors' part because I supported the character who didn't get the part in earlier fights. The book had such a strong plot an...more

I felt that this book was really interesting because it had a lot of gossip. It showed me how wild girls can actually be at highschool. There are a lot of drama and action in the book. I was suprised how girls can get mad or forgive someone over the dumbestt things.
