Lucy Sharpe assigns Max Roper to protect the widow of billionaire William Peyton following his death and to find out if she had anything to do with his death of natural causes. What complicates matters is the widow...she's Max's ex lover, Corrinne (Cori) Cooper Peyton, and they didn't leave on good terms. Needless to say, Cori's not happy to see Max when he shows up for duty.

I liked both Max and Cori individually and as a couple. She's smart and sharp but without an edge. He's smoldering and bro

I loved this one! Kill Me Twice was good, but Thrill Me To Death is GREAT!

I am a complete sucker for "second chance at love" themes, and this one definitely fits into that category. Max Roper and Cori Peyton have a past. A SIGNIFICANT past. Although "big misunderstandings" usually bother me, their BM seemed believable. Max is hired to protect Cori. She is suspected of killing her rich, older, husband and Max is brought in to investigate and get information. The suspense is good, but the chemist

I didn't care for this book very much. The heroine kinda got on my nerves. But the plot line still kept me intrigued.

Cori's billionaire husband died of a heart attack three months ago. However Cori doesn't believe the ME's report. So she sets out to find evidence that proves her husband was murdered.

In comes Max Roper, Cori's new bodyguard and former love interest. Cori and Max parted ways after Cori's father was killed in the field. Now five years later there's a surprise on Cori's doorstep; th

Max Roper was sent to protect billionairess widow, Corinne Peyton after her husband died of a heart attack. But neither Max nor Cori believed that to be the case. There's also a history between Max and Cori, which made for a second chance love story I usually fall for. Their chemistry is great and their romance doesn't bog the story down. The problem I had with the story however was the over the top plot at times, as well as Cori's TSTL behaviors. She's actually a likable character, tho

I am coming to think of this series like M&M's, not good for you at all, but still great fun to enjoy. This book follows the typical romantic suspense formula but that is ok. I liked Max from what we saw of him in the previous book, Cori at times irritated me, she was just too perfect. And there in lies the crux of the whole book. It appears that I am not the only person who thought Cori was too perfect. It was too bad that Cori was betrayed by those close to them, but life is not fair at al ...more

4 stars - Romantic Suspense

Thrill Me To Death, the second novel in Roxanne St. Claire's Bullet Catchers series, is another exciting romantic suspense read. The plot is fast paced, the characters are well developed, and there is a perfect balance of romance, mystery, action, and suspense. The bodyguard/Bullet Catcher Max Roper is a sexy alpha male with a big heart, who is tasked with protecting and investigating his former flame, Cori Peyton, while they both try hard to deny and fight their attr

3.5 stars. I really liked the characters and the story for the most part. It was paced well and kept my interest. However, stupid acts lead to the climax and I hate that. These were not stupid people, so they shouldn't have suddenly acted foolishly just to continue the story.

All in all though, I did enjoy it and since I have almost the entire collection anyway, I think I'll continue with this series.

Max Roper's new assignment for the Bullet Catchers is to protect the rich widow of Billionaire William Peyton who died three months ago, and find out if she had anything to do with his death. It seems like an easy assignment until Max learns that the wife is Corrine Cooper Peyton, Max's former fiancee. When Max arrives in Florida, Cori is not happy to see him; but she knows he will be good at his job. Someone has threatened Cori's life...probably the same someone who killed her husband.

My first book by the author and I must say I enjoyed it very, very much. It has a nice balance of romance and suspense and I like the suspense element in this one. It keeps me guessing, which I love, even though my initial guess proves right in the end (which I also love!). So yes, I'll definitely read more stuff by the author whenever I'm in the mood for some good thrill and chase.

Good Chemistry

I read the first book a long time ago, and I had forgotten how much I liked this series. I had been having a hard time finding a book that interested me, and as I was scrolling around on Amazon, I reconnected with The Bullet Catchers. I absolutely loved Max. He was so closed off, but not to Cori. Their card games and back and forth banter were amusing. Cori was very independent and Max was very protective. The combination made for some definite sparks. I really enjoyed the story an

This is the second book in this series. Max Roper is a former DEA agent that has joined a private company that hires themselves out as elite bodyguards. He receives an assignment to protect Cori Petyon, a widow of a billionaire. Cori and Max had a relationship several years back. Their former relationship, their prior history and prior passion all get in the way of Max's ability to do his job. Cori has become a target for killers after her husband's money and company.

The second book in the Bullet Catchers series proves to be quite exciting with a very strong start and a set of interesting characters. It's only unfortunate that a few logic fails in the realm of bodyguard-landia makes some of the eleventh hour plot a little hard to accept.

Also, the concluding mystery of billionaire William Peyton's death was explained away in a too convenient, left-field sort of way and kind of didn’t really make much sense.

Nonetheless, the excitement of the investigation and

I have some trouble finding my rating.
The overall plot was really good, with several layers of mystery that developped and unravelled progressively : what really happened to create such a breach between Cori and Max? was William murdered ? by whom and why ? why did Cori marry him ? etc. All those questions and others that appear later in the book are really well managed to maintain a high level of suspense.
Max was surprising : his barriers all fell down so quickly that he almost seemed like a di

I'm on a St. Claire glom! I just finished Thrill Me To Death today and can't believe I didn't discover this author sooner. (I did read one book years ago about a heist in France that I liked but didn't love.) Now I've read two of the Angelinos and two of the Bullet Catchers and I'm completely addicted.

This is a "reunion" story and I don't normally like them. I want to experience the first time a couple meets. Plus, I don't like the really "stoic" (as she describes him) heroes. Well, once again,

Not only is Lucy Sharpe an expert on all things espionage related, she also seems to be a matchmaker. Once again, she pairs her Bullet Catcher with a principal that she feels will be able to "tame" her employee and make him happy. Those parts of these books are fun :) Hopefully Lucy will get her chance at love in a future book.

Max Roper and Corinne Cooper were an item in the past with plans to marry. Something happened, she blamed Max, and they walked away. 5 years later, Max is assigned to prot

This book was so much better than the first book, but what I am finding with this author is she really develops the heroine, but as a reader you are left to develop the hero on you own. There is just something missing...I could be wrong here, but I feel a little cheated where the hero is concerned.

Keeping all that in mind, this was still a good story. Corrine was much less annoying and except for a few instances were she seemed a little clueless she was a great match for "Mad Max".

Fast read... I already knew who the bad person right away. Not like the first book where you're like "what?" This one is alittle bit more obvious but still kept me second guessing. There were lots of loose ends left in the end. It feels like a novella though.

This book didn't really captivate me. I just wasn't that thrilled because the whole story was a bit blah and somehow I just expected more from Max. Especially when he met Cori again, after 5 years of being apart. Plus, the whole killer/suspense plot was seriously blah. I knew from nearly the beginning who was behind all of it. What really bugged me though was that the reasons of killing William Peyton were just not really convincing. Well, killing a people never is but from a book I expect more. ...more

Bullet Catcher, Max Roper has been assigned as a bodyguard to a wealthy recently widowed heiress. When Lucy his boss tells him it is Cori - his ex-finacee - he knows he has to block his emotions. Cori thinks her husband was murdered and did not die of natural causes like the coroner's report states. The insurance company and Lucy also wonder if this is a murder and if the beautiful heiress is involved. SO begins the "thrilling" ride.

Well, I really characters like Max and maybe that's the reason I have some expectation how to melt such a guy like him and the story didn't meet them. I think the reason was, that he already knew Cori and all they had to do was get over their past instead of getting to know each other. It was still good, but just not what I expected.

The story itself was good, was trying to figure out who was the murder and I really had no clue, cos there were just to many suspects on plate to pin point one. So i
