Jody Dyer’s short story, Field Day, is not only well-written, funny and entertaining, but has a powerful message for both kids and parents. So many kids struggle with wanting to fit in and when they are unable to do something, it affects their self-esteem. This clever story reminds us that we sometimes overlook our own gifts while desiring to be like someone else. No one is good at everything, but we should never forget that our strengths may be someone else’s weaknesses.
