A wonderful book - Spare, honest poetry - a lot of striking images: here's the opening of one -
"Dad's horses

darken out the sun
I am at their knees looking up
at the lode star of the stirrup
and my four-storey father."

The narrative flow can be misleadingly easy to read - there's lots of beautiful language that repays lingering on and savouring.
Production values fabulous, as well - well done, VUP and Brendan O'Brien, who did the collages. They heighten and deepen the effects of the poems without be
