This is a really fun level 1 book that helps to build confidence with new words. The adorable illustrations and the catchy, rhyming narrative are great for children. Our girls had a lot of fun helping me read this story, especially with all of the -ound words and the cute dialogue. The section where Hound is offering Pup various items to eat (a stick! Ick! A shoe? Ewww!) was hilarious and we just loved reading it together. We will certainly look for more of these books at our local library.

Cute rhyming story for a beginning reader.

Excerpt from the book:
What was that?
What was that sound?
Hound looked around.
He sniffed the ground until he found . . .
. . . what made that sound!
It was small and round,
curled on the ground.
It was Pup.
He was fed up!
