The story happened in Afghanistan. It's a story about Amir and his friend Hassan, who was very loyal to him. Hassan was Ali's son who was servant in Amir's house. The book was basically talking about the life of two boys. Hassan was a natural runner. He ran the kite for Amir and he was beaten and raped by Assef when he tried to protect the kite. Amir was too afraid to help him. After that he made his father fire Ali. Soviet Union attacked Afghanistan so Amir and his father moved to California. A ...more

Wow! This is a book that i couldn't lay down. This book has everything. It's about love, friendship, war, betrail, lies, onner, guild and relaese. It's tensive and emotional.
Just read it yourselve!

Twelve-year-old Amir is desperate to win the approval of his father and resolves to win the local kite-fighting toumament, to prove that he has the makings of a man. His loyal friend Hassan promises to help him? for he always helps Amir? but this is 1970s Afghanistan and Hassan is merely a low-caste se

A touching novel about friendship, fraternity, and betrayal. Amir and Hassan were always together, they were just like two peas in a pod. Soo much days they spent together, including chasing the kite. But one day, Amir became a coward since he decided to run when Hassan was in a danger. For several years, Amir had forgot about that accident until it came back again and disturbed his mind. So let’s see how Amir could pay his guiltiness to Hasan by reading this supernovel !!!

In my own way I believe that major events in one's life help form or contribute to who we are today whether it is good or bad. While reading " The Kite Runner", in the first chapter it says " I became what I am today at the age of twelve, on a frigid overcast day in winter of 1975" ( pg 1). When reading this it explains that a very important moment whether good or bad formed him into who he is today. In chapter one his old friend Rahim Khan called and asked him to come see him, when the call was ...more

A story about faith, hope, courage, loyalty, love, secrets, war, peace, and most of all friendship & brotherhood.
I loved every chapter of it. The tragedy, the little things in it made me thirsty for more. And my favorite quote is "for you a thousand times over."
My favorite character's Hassan needless to say, and Amir wasn't bad after all.
The author's way of telling the story was perfect, a must read book.

aku kurang merasa sentuhannya
kurang merasakan kekuatannya :(

Remind me the story of "Children of Heaven".
This is the perfect book telling about friendship in faith.
Learning the braveness, learning about friendship..
My tears go down, they miss Heaven.

If you are used to happy endings this book will definitely will bring you out of your comfort zone.
The story describes the impact of guilt through the generations. The guilt of the father leads to generosity towards everyone and coldness towards his son. The guilt of the son leads to fearful cruelty.
The characters are interesting, they develop as the story goes, which makes them complex and interesting.
I personally was quite fascinated to learn that prior to the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan,

The Kite Runner is a novel about loyalty and betrayal, family and friends and beauty and chaos. I can realte to the relationship Amir and his Baba has because it resembles my relationship with my father. We don't talk to much but I know deep inside that I truly care about him and he does for me, too. Relationships can be quiet but it doesnt necessarily mean that there is a gap between. I've also understood more the Afghan culture.
The novel, through Baba, showed how we can create good out of gui

This is one of my all time favourite books, I read it in one sitting.
It is so well written and even though it is a few years since I read it I can't forget the story. It really isn't a book you read and forget, at the time I was begging people to read it just so I could talk about it!, it really makes you think about friendship.
It was lovely as it was so well written I could visualise the setting.
In all honesty I don't know that I could reread it though as I found it quite unsettling as I said i

Setelah selesai membaca 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' nya karya Khaled Hosseini , lantas aku tertarik pula untuk membaca buku perdananya yaitu 'The Kite Runner'.

Untungnya Jenk Ine yg baik hati - salah satu teman penggila buku bersedia meminjamkan buku tsb (eh tukeran dink kala sabtu kemarin). Tak pernah kusangka negara Afghanistan memiliki penulis berkualitas.

This is a story about the relationship between Amir and his servant, Hassan happening their childhood in Afghanistan.
Hassan was a sacrifice person. When Hassan said to Amir that he will do whatever for Amir a thousand times, I cried for his sprite of sacrifice. Besides, one of the scenes that Amir threw some red fruit to Hassan to make him angry. Hassan did not throw the fruits but his face. When I see that scene, I gave an exclamation of surprise. I impressed about Hassan’s innocent and true m

"The Kite Runner" reminded me of a very important and critical point that we all must pay attention to:

We must not let envy and jealousy feelings to control our deeds and take us to the non-returning point. The Islamic religion has taught me that the first sin Satan had committed was getting jealous of our father Adam in paradise because God created him from fire while created Adam from soil. But, what started as a jealously at the first place turned out later to be a hatred from the Satan which

hmmm the kite runner....

Background yang terakhir inilah yang

Selamat membaca..
