There are a lot of comments in the reviews of this book about the grammar and the anachronistic use of modern language. I have to say, neither of those things bothered me, and perhaps that is because (whether it is right or not) I tend to set my standards a little lower for Kindle Unlimited offerings. However, I am a big believer in "sample" reading, and this book's lead-in sucked me right to the "read for free" button. The premise of the story is a little unbelievable, with a 22-year old woman ...more

Charlie Sinclair is a likable main protagonist and the story has a nice flow and good pacing. The plot develops well and it's easy for the reader to hope and wish for Charlie's happily ever after.

Personally, I found too many typing and grammatical errors in the book, particularly in the last third. It just got annoying. It could have done with another couple of read-throughs from the author. Also, life on board the Arcadia and the Dragon's Lair seem to have been well-researched but there wasn't
Naval historical American romance set on the high seas (for the most part) with a cross dressing young lady and a sexy pirate with a big family.
Miss/Mr. Charlie Sinclair has mostly grown up on her father's ship, she earned her way through the ranks until the awful day that her father is killed and then she is stolen on to the pirate, Captain Jaxon Bloodworthy's very fast modern ship. I really liked tough smart Charlie and her best friend, Monty. But there was too much back and forth lies, confro

I really loved the storyline for this novel. Nothing makes for an interesting romance like cross-dressing or long confinements at sea. The reason I cannot give this five stars is entirely grammatical. There are multiple misspellings in the text. The characters also use the endearment, 'baby', which threw me off because it seems so out of place for this time period. That being said, it is a delightful story and a very enjoyable read.

This was a cute read. The characters are easily likable or disliked and the plot was pretty straightforward. My only complaint would be timing of reveals, I would have liked it more if certain things hadn't been revealed so quickly.

Loved this book, Charlie is great. The story is well told and had me believing it could happen. The romance is wonderful, I couldn't put this book down and read through the wee hours.
