I found this to be a very informative overview of the blogosphere, covering all of the basics of setting up blogs, different types of blogs, customizing blogs and maintaining them, with lots of good advice for personal bloggers as well as for those hoping to use their blog as a business tool. Unlike other reviewers, I wasn't offended by the lighthearted, Sex-and-the-city tone of the book. After all, if you go to the authors' web site and check out their portfolio, you'll see that they have bee More...

I won this book in a raffle at SXSW Interactive. Lucky, because I was just interested enough to want to read it, but not enough to pay for it!

This book is an odd mixture of practical, useful information and highly annoying, super girly references a la Sex and the City. I'm not saying it was totally dumbed-down, just... good info with bad makeover. Blogging with Moxie by Joelle Reeder is a great way to learn to blog and learn about ways to get your favorite topics out to the public.

It's written with the female reader in mind although male readers would find the information equally useful.

I really enjoyed reading it and highly recommend it!

This is definitely a great book for the absolute novice in blogging. If you are already familiar with the ins and outs, this book won't really provide any insightful ideas. Still worth a read-through I think if you can get it at a discounted price.

A lot of the advice is smart and sharp, but closing each chapter with drink recipes or spa ideas is dumb, dumb, dumb.

As inevitable with these types of books it is fairly outdated now, and in general more introductory than anticipated.
