Trying to review this one is almost a pointless task. It's something every comic book fan should read simply because it's a classic that helped to lay the groundwork for so many hallmarks of Spider-Man's world but, reading it over fifty years later, it has some huge weaknesses.

Of course, many of the most obvious criticisms are also unfair. Yes, the story is simplistic, the threat from the Sinister Six (quite the ragtag bunch of boneheads they are, too) is weak and their behaviour almost laughabl
