Duncan is different from other teenagers. Sometimes people think he acts like a robot, with stiff movements and a flat voice. Other times, he does or says the wrong things and ends up in trouble without ever realizing why. He doesn't really get jokes. He likes words to mean just one thing.

Duncan has Asperger's syndrome, a condition that's often considered to be a high-func

This small but helpful book intended for teens is a combination of story (about a high schooler named Duncan who has Asperger's) and factual information. Cute story, and the information was good if a bit basic. Would be good for a teen with aspergers, or soeone who knows a teen with aspergers to read. Some of the information was helpful to me (an adult with aspergers), and the story was tollerable if geared (like the book) toward teens.

a strange combination of non fiction and narrative. The information was helpful, and the story, while a little trite, was interesting. it was a good introduction. i think I'll lean towards something a little more scientific if I want to know more, but really, i can't ask for better when the book is an impulse grab at the bookmobile.
