A win-win negotiation?

Truman "Tru" Jelinek's life is pretty much off the rails. With his professional hockey career on thin ice, and his personal life falling apart, he's ready to implement some serious changes. Helping Jenny Martin--the only girl he's ever loved--make her dreams a reality is a good place to start.

There's just one problem: Jenny doesn't want his help. She

WOW Awesome story I loved it from start to finish and although I was eager to get to the end I didn't want this one end :)

Back in January I got on a Hockey Romance kick and one of my favorite discoveries was Anna Sugden's A Perfect Distraction! I anxiously awaited the July release of book two, A Perfect Trade - and I was not disappointed!

We got to know Tru and Jenny in book 1, as Bad-Boy's closest friend and the team's puck bunny of choice. I'll be honest, I was nervous about getting to know Jenny better. Puck Bunny's have sort of a low standing in my social world (as in, I can't imagine being one and don't have a

Professional hockey player, Truman (Tru) Jelinek, life has been on a downward spiral. He decides to help the one person he ever loved, Jenny Martin, obtain a dream. However, Jenny is not sure if she can forgive him for the mistake he made in their past.

I love Tru. He’s a good guy and wants to take care of the people he cares about to a fault. He seems to bend over backwards to make amends to Jenny. I felt horrible for him that everything seemed to go wrong for him at once. He means
"I'm sorry, I thought I was doing the right thing."
Tru Jelineck has said that so often it should be tattooed on his forehead. Par for the course for a man who thinks he knows what is best for everyone in his life. The trouble is, while his intentions are good, his manner and actions are often overbearing, unwelcomed and sometimes downright dangerous due to the consequences issuing from those actions.
Jenny Martin has first hand experience with Tru's "helpfulness". When they were teenagers and in
This book didn't work for me on so many levels I'm not really sure where to start.

I guess the first thing is, I found the hockey theme completely impenetrable. I don't follow it, it's not played at all in my country and I have very little interest in sports, so I found much of the play jargon and inside knowledge complete gibberish, especially the politics and workings of drafting and trading players. I get that it's vitally important to the storyline, and obviously Sugden loves it so I can't b
A Perfect Trade is book 2 in Anna Sugden Jersey Ice Cats series. Tru and Jenny both have pasts that are filled with a lot of hurt. Tru betrayed Jenny's trust when they were teenagers and their relationship has never been the same. Now both of their lives are in an upheaval. Tru wants Jenny to trust him but can she? Jenny fears trusting Tru will lead her to more heartache. Or if Jenny trusts Tru can they both find their happiness?

This is the author's second book with many more books to come!
Delightful. Can't wait to see who's next.

"A Perfect Trade offers a realistic treatment of modern-day life and romance in spite of the fact that a famous hockey player is involved. The story is quite believable, as are the characters" (RT Book Reviews). 4 stars
Wonderful story, I love this series.
Review to come!

Award-winning, Harlequin SuperRomance author, Anna Sugden, loves reading romance novels and watching films with happy endings. She also loves watching hockey and football, where she prefers a happy ending for her teams (Go Devils, Man UTD, Exeter, ‘Skins!). When she’s not researching hockey players (for her books, of course), she makes craft projects and collects penguins, autographs and memorabil ...more
