Deus ex magicka!

This was a pretty rushed ending to the arc in my opinion. After all the build up and preaching of not using brute force to handle an intellectual challenge, empathy won the day, but how does one lead to the other?

Also, the riddle that the Sphinx posed multiple times throughout the books went without an answer. Here I was, thinking that was the actual goal of the story, and that the characters (and by extension, the reader) would get a neat lesson or something.
