Book received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. I didn't think beyond the current plot (as to who might actually be running the show), but once a particular event had, it became pretty clear who the ultimate villain was. Thankfully, the villain got their just desserts.

Now, onto the characters. Clay - pretty decent guy, even though he's carrying around some major guilt for not coming back to town sooner and blaming himself for his brother's death. He stretches t

This is my first read of Lynette Eason, and her new book “The Lawman Returns”, may not be her very best. I’ve gone through her books and she’s got books with reviews over a 1000 for some. So the jury is still out there, from my side.
The Lawman Returns is set in Wrangler’s Corner, a small town in Tennessee.

Clarke Starke returns to his hometown as a Deputy and is hell bent on getting to the bottom of mystery surrounding his brother’s death, who was a deputy. Sabrina Mayfield is a social worker, tr

Completely enjoyed this one! Sabrina has to help the child that calls her for help, but she doesn't realize exactly what trouble she is running straight into. Clay has come home and taken over his brother's place in the police department. The main reason he is home is to solve his brother's murder and Sabrina is more than ready to help him. Now, Clay is more determined than ever to find his brother's murderer, but with Sabrina in a killer's crosshairs, their trouble may be more than they imagine ...more

Like: The pace.
Dislike: Nothing.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, 100% recommend this book, I really liked the pacing, it wasn't too fast, but it also didn't drag. I love that the author was able to keep me entertained until the very end, sometimes when reading I get bored and distracted, but I didn't experience that at all with this book.

This was the first book I've read from Lynette Eason, so I wasn't really sure what to ex

THE LAWMAN RETURNS by Lynette Eason by all rights should receive a 10 star rating! I have read a number of her suspense books and I believe this one is her best yet! With promises of more to come! Even though this is number one of the "Wrangler's Corner" series, it is a great stand alone novel as well. Her characters, Deputy Clay Starke and social worker, Sabrina Mayfield, are very colorful and likable, who go from one nail-biting, hair-raising, event after another, with a very surprise, but won ...more

FANTASTIC

Lynette Eason is one of my favorite suspense Christian writers. When I see her name as the author I just grab the book. This is the story of two wounded people Clay and Sabrina. Clay as a youth had been blamed for a fire that left a young man scarred has returned to Wrangler's Corner a detective from Nashville. Sabrina is a social worker
whose was bullied when she was young because of the actions of her mother. They are both trying to find out who killed Clay's brother Steven.Wonderful

When is the next story coming out? I read this in one day. I couldn't put it down! The suspense had me on the edge of my seat, or at least holding my breath, waiting for the next page, the next paragraph.

Sabrina is beautiful. Her heart of compassion for others is beyond precious. Her desire to be accepted for who SHE is and to be loved was endearing to me. Her estrangement with her mother drew my empathy in more ways than I care to count.

Clay? His guilt eats at him, yet his care of Sabrina and

The Lawman returns was a good suspense story. Though I had guessed early about who the boss was. The rest kept me guessing.
I liked the characters. Lots of drama, action, and family.

Clay Starke has come back to town after his brother Steven was murdered. He even took the job Steven had. No one new who had killed him. Clay comes from a big family.

Sabrina Mayfield is a social worker who cares about the kids. Someone is trying to kill her. Steven was a good friend of hers.

Clay and Sabrina are

Page-turning suspense at its very best. My heart rate accelerated the second I started reading. Eason knows how to lure a reader in and keep her hooked until the very last page. A complex plot kept me on my toes. Loved the balance between mystery and suspense. I was trying to figure out clues right along with Sabrina and Clay -- while anxiously looking over my shoulder in mounting fear. Spine tingling good.

My thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for a review copy of this book.

what a reception back to town. Kids missing n bullets flying. A small town n people are acquainted in the community. Plus stories/rumours still filter down from ages past enough to cause damaged to people lives. Secrets that come to pass in the story as the drama unfolds. The Christmas barbeque has those that need protecting n those that are doing the hunting.... hair raising time.

This was a good suspense story. It will keep you guessing and turning the pages until the end. It's full of drama, action, and family dynamics. The characters are great and very likeable. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series, great start to a new series.

I was given a copy by the publisher via Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This wintry story is set in Tennessee, and we meet a social worker, a deputy, and a criminal element.

There's a meth lab in the ratty trailer where the lady social worker finds two small children, and she and her deputy escort are immediately in danger. From this situation we move on to family feuds, small town gossip and a lurking menace.

The overall story is a good read, but I was dubious about the wisdom of holding an outdoor barbecue party near Christmas on the outskirts of town, with snow f

Maybe a little less, due to a deus ex machine ending, but still much better than average. They must have new editors. The last three books have broken away from "the formula," and the woman are now being allowed to be stronger protagonists. I hope this continues.

Sincerely surprised by the ending of this story. Good book, would recommend to friends.

"Veteran Love Inspired Suspense author Eason returns with an evenly balanced tale of mystery and romance. Sabrina’s character illustrates the fact that even though perfection is impossible, God still loves us" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).
