Who doesn't love Arcadia Publishing for its work to capture the history of American culture? As a traveler, I always buy their books to get historical overviews of places I visit (providing they're affordably priced).

Their books lean towards historical brevity, little speculation and lots of pictures. Which in itself is a good thing for most readers, I guess.
