After her abusive father kicks her out, she finds temporary shelter in the basement of her friend’s house. Recommends it for: Everyone
I loved this book! I couldn't put it down! The imagery and storyline kept me reading. I wanted to know what the main character Jen was going to do with the choices that came her way. This is a really good book for anyone who has wanted to strive for independence and tried to figure out their life path in a time when 9/11 happened and our young people were joining the military.

Because of challenges she had, she did not think she would make me. Many young individuals do not know where they are going or how they are ...more

This book is so well written and absorbing in its emotional details. I absolutely loved the descriptions of basic training and the heart it takes to get through it. Having 2 sons who joined the military at a young age, I was humbled by the life experiences the author so clearly described. LOVED IT!
