It isn't often that you get to read a good dieselpunk story, so I'm very happy I came across "Gods of Chicago".
This is just the first in six episodes, but there's a lot here to keep you reading and asking for more.

Our hard-drinking two-fisted newshawk hero is Mitchell Brand, a refreshingly believable main character with his backstory, his hopes and fears, his darkly poetic dialogue and noir one-liners, and his righteous anger at the chaos in which he unwittingly finds himself. Also sharing the narrative is Emma Farnsworth, a well-rounded female character who moves ...more

Short excerpt from AJ Sikes' novel given to me as a freebie preview.
I loved this and if you're a fan of the Classic Pulps of the early 1940s, so will you.
Recommended.
