The author's love for the wilderness and nature is evident in this book. It is simplistic language and a recitation of memories. It does not have any rising action, but it has a unique cadence. The end, however, is abrupt and leaves the reader wondering why it ends where it does. The stories have a charm of their own, and you will find yourself falling in love with Cricket by the end of the book.
