This leading-edge book by Esther and Jerry Hicks, who present the teachings of the nonphysical entity Abraham, is about having a deliberate intent for whatever you want in life, while at the same time balancing your energy along the way. But itll find that the living of your life is an ongoing journey of joy, rather than a series of long dry spells between occasional momen...more

There is no excuse for this one having been written, expect for those who just really needed more to read. If you are looking for a book that will help you delude yourself about the world around you, this will help. Though I recommend Ask and It is Given more for that effect, as it also gives you 22 processes to use to help you steadily change your beliefs around any subject that is bothering you, this one will help draw you into the metaphysical land of Abraham, the entities that Esther Hicks c...more

MOTIVATIONAL - PERSONAL GROWTH:

'caution, this is 'out there'

If you can get over the disbelief about "Abraham"...
you will find incredible wisdom in this and all books by Hicks.

If Abraham does not exist...Esther is the smartest woman on the planet.

The worldwide phenomena of "the secret' in 2006 espousing the ' Law of attraction' is really - in my view - based on Esther and Jerry Hicks work.

I read the...more

This is an outstanding addition to the Abraham-Hicks repertoire. In this book, the Hicks' drill down further on the Art of Allowing by explaining how their concept (deliberate intent) differs from the standard concept of "allowing" (tolerating).

The book contains an outstanding series of exercises and examples to help readers understand how the process works.

I have mentioned before in my reviews of the Hicks' work that some people may think of this as kind of "...more

My friend KT added the book to her to-read list and its concept seemed to compliment other self-help books I’ve found useful lately, which show that one way to improve your life is to “trick” your subconscious mind into believing that your life is better already. Convincing the subconscious that circumstances are good can bring improvement in those circumstances. Improving your emotions and thoughts improves your life. What makes this book different is that it offers actual techniques for gettin...more

I love Jerry and Esther Hicks. I am listening to this on CD and Jerry himself reads it. Esther channels several entities that call themselves Abraham. This is a follow up book to "Ask and it is Given" which had a profound positive impact on my life.

The basic premise is that this life is supposed to be joyous and we can create our own reality. If we are feeling negative emotion about any situation, it is an indication that we are not in alignment with our true self and th...more

This second part to the "Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent" series is really wonderful.

My favorite parts are:

1. The exercise where you put $100.00 in your wallet and "pretend" to buy something by visualizing it in your mind to change your relationship with money.

2. The "becoming free of debt" exercise where you go through all your debts and write them down. That was very enlightening for us to do that. Then, you keep track on E...more

I find this book to be a great reminder of how to stay focused on creating a positive life and how to deal with the challenging times.
It is explained so simply that it resonates with a truth deep inside as you read it. An uplifting book that inspires and redirects you on your path.NB Warning= Best reading for open minded persons only. :-)

This is a great read for the person looking to find personal success in life. Personally I prefer motivational books with a more religious base. For the person looking to find their "personal path" financially it is a good read :)

solid description of the often talked about law of attraction. The practical examples of shifting thinking up and down the emotional guidance scale are very clarifying. Thank you for this information!

Where to begin..... Let's start with the title, so if you deliberately intend to do something you're going to see results, right? Holy shit these folks are sages and visionaries. How stupid is the average person that they buy into this shit? Stop giving people like this your money. They are only successful because you are a tool, not because some ancient entity gave them spiritual guidance. Use your brain.

I swear to christ (not necessarily out of any faith in him but more to pi...more

Very repetitious , I thought it would be more in-depth but it just repeats exercises over and over . General message good though .

This book is about mind expansion on a spiritual level, very New Age, and I wanted to like it. I didn't like, however, and I think the problem (for me) was the way it's written. It's not very "user friendly" and I suspect you need to read the authors' previous books to tune in to their vocabulary and methods. In the forward Jerry Hicks explains that the book contains words used in a way we don't normally use them, and that may be where I had my problems. It's not a bad book and it mad...more

This book explores the idea that whatever it is we think and feel is what we create in our lives. It's inspiring and powerful. When you think negative thoughts and doubt yourself, you block the flow of receiving what you want in your life. However, when you can harness the ability to think positive thoughts and put yourself into vibrational alignment with your desires, you can speed up the process of receiving your heart's desires.

Worth the read! Something to think about.

I do not know... I found Esther and Jerry quite pretentious and one of those positive thinkers and group-pshychiatrist I would never wanna talk to... there were several times when I wanted to stop reading. something got me going. and I guess it did reprogram my mind a bit. who knows. decide for yourself.

I read this book years ago. Since then I've read The Secret and The New Earth. This book is far more practical. Basically it discusses the power of positive thinking. Nothing new of course but explained clearly with exercises. From my own pursuits of how to live a better life, gratitude and forgiveness reigns supreme. Not always easy but life, love and light affirming.

Another book about the power of thought and positive thinking, with some step by step instuctions on dealing with differnet situations. I found it to be a little repetitive and drawn out, however it does deliver a good message.

This is a great book that takes off where The Secret left off. It comes full of great techniques to help you in your journey to whatever it is that you may need.

At times the books seems as little repetitive but that is the point of the book.

We can all learn something from Esther Hicks books. They get a ltlle deep and "out there" for some, but listen to the ideas, the processes.
