j'ai lu ce livre en français.Ils sortirent tous deux, emportant les diverses pièces de leur machine. La lune brillait dans un ciel presque sans nuages. Sur les Downs, tout était calme et silencieux. Ils s'arrêtèrent un moment devant la grange et écoutèrent, aucun bruit ne parvint à leurs oreilles, sauf le sourd grondement de la mer. Pendant que Pericord faisait la navette pour apporter tout ce dont ils avaient besoin, Brown remplit de briques un grand sac étroit...

Arthur Conan Doyle was born the third of ten siblings on 22 May 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland. His father, Charles Altamont Doyle, was born in England of Irish descent, and his mother, born Mary Foley, was Irish. They were married in 1855.

Although he is now referred to as "Conan Doyle", the origin of this compound surname (if that is how he meant it to be understood) is uncertain. His baptism record
