I have read a few of Sarah Young's books and while they are encouraging and uplifting my only problem is that they are so ridiculously repetitive that really, you only need to pick one and not read them all.

She has Jesus saying about 6 different things, and finds a way somehow to make 300 page books out of saying the same things over and over again just using different words of scenarios.

She's good, but each book should and can be written differently or an a different aspect of Christianity or h

I am absolutely fanatical about Jesus Calling & Jesus Today; however, Dear Jesus just doesn't work well for me. There is a topical index in the back of the book to help you find relevant writings; however, this book is written in a dialogue format. For example, each devotion has four sections: Topic, Question, Answer & Scripture Reference. Let me give you a brief example—1)The very first devotion starts out section 1 with the Topic/Comment from the perspective of Jesus speaking. 2) Secti ...more

In this amazing and powerful meditational-devotional book, Sarah Young expresses to Jesus what is in her own heart and, in so doing, she also expresses what is in the heart of each one of us. I love how meaningfully she has transposed scripture into God's words and portrayed Him as speaking directly and personally to each of us. My heart has been deeply touched and bountifully blessed as Sarah has so beautifully captured the essence of what it means to live daily in personal relationship and int ...more

My hidden thoughts seen transparently and answered by Jesus

An awesome encouraging daily read. The things I've thought or worried about are common to all men. Jesus, the lover of these weak and self sufficient children that we are, speaks to the issues we face. He always answers in a sweet convicting uplifting way.

Good devotional

I much preferred "Jesus Calling," but this is another good devotional by Sarah Young in which she writes as if God is speaking directly to the reader.

Maybe not as powerful as Jesus Calling but that could be because her style was more familiar. still seemed to have the perfect thing on the perfect day. Grateful for her gift and have passed it on!

“Beloved, it helps to have an eternal perspective. If your life on earth were all there is, it might be reasonable to run from adversity and seek a life of pleasure. However, your earthly lifespan is miniscule, compared with the Glory that awaits you in heaven. A large part of learning to trust Me is viewing your life through this big-picture perspective. Your openness to accepting adversity as blessing shows that you are indeed learning to trust Me more. Your anticipation of good outcomes in the midst of hard times is a profound form of trust. Remember that the evil one attacks you continually with burning arrows of accusation. If you use your shield of faith skillfully, you can stop those missiles and extinguish their flames. Even if some of the arrows find their mark and wound you, do not despair. I am the Great Physician: My loving Presence can both heal your wounds and train you to trust Me more.” 1 likes
“Instead of striving for a predictable, safe lifestyle, seek to know Me in greater depth and breadth. I want to make your life a glorious adventure, but you must stop clinging to old ways.” 0 likes
