A very humorous and humble tale of growing up in rural Northern Island in the years before WWII. Arthur Magennis has a great way of telling it. The characters are just wonderful. A really entertaining memoir, and very educational.

Great insight into the life of the author. It is written as if you were sitting listening to him recount his entire life. It took some getting use to and at times it was a labor to read but in the end was a very entertaining book.
