The premise of this book was pretty straightforward. It had 18 very short stories about a particularly memorable case or event in the first year of various lawyer's careers. The overarching theme (whether for the big corporate lawyers, small town ones, or the ones that left law altogether) was that what they learned in law school didn't completely prepare them for the realities of the law in practice. This book is based on the life of a young man who just got his degree as a lawyer. He struggles through several trials and learns that things aren't as simple as they seem to be. This book is only recommendable for those who are planning on being a lawyer or want to learn a few things behind big icons or important politicians.
