This is the first in Elena Greene's Three Disgraces series, a regency about three young women who met in school and remained close friends despite family and social pressures. Lady Catherine, a duke's daughter, is lovely, spirited, and despised by her father and stepmother. I read the first novel in the Three Disgraces series only so I could read the third (Saving Lord Verwood) with some degree of understanding. The book itself is rather boring, but the characters are fine and I didn't regret reading it.

For those who love Jane Austen, this is a charming pastiche. It's teeny bit slow for those used to modern romances, but was perfect for the genre and was most "diverting." ;)

Well written though could have used a few more details for me. I liked that you knew she had a secret but you didn't quite know what it was until the end. Will definitely be getting the 2nd book. This was a great First reads.

“You still love me? After all I have done?” she asked, her voice breaking.

“It doesn’t matter. Nothing that has happened matters. I am here now, and I love you.”
