This book tells the story of an "average joe" who has a dream of owning a company. The book is useful with regard to its constant onslaught of recommended sales and marketing techniques; however, the pursued business venture in the story is kind of bizarre. The main character strives to become a speaker who tells others how to start a business. That is it. He goes around and speaks all day. Kind of a strange career path that most of us would not think of seeking. But the story go...more

this book is not worth reading. It is a fake fictional tale about how someone succeeded i nthe motivational speaking industry by following basic rules of entrepreneurs. the basic rules are fine and are convienently located in the back so all you have to do is photocopy them. which i didn't do cause they're common sense.

I listened to the 3 CD audio version. Under inspiring fictitious tale was painful to listen to. The one minute entrepreneur points were good.

Like all of Blanchard's "One Minute" books it was a pretty quick read. Good info told to the reader like a story. Well worth reading.

My wife and I enjoyed this book. I liked how he used the vehicle of a story to express his key points.

Some few great tips, but the language and story is a bit too "3rd grade" for my taste.

I've enjoyed many of Ken Blanchard's books - quick and practical tips. As with any aspect in life, he seems to write about starting and always coming back to the basics. Some of the tips include building a solid foundation, current and future sources of revenues (not resting on your laurels), recruiting and retaining talent and offering superior service. Basics but it seems like the basics in life are what really create success and happiness.

Don Hutson actually covers a lot of other topics likes sales, strategy, leadership, and other topics in his book on entrepreneurship with Ken Blanchard.

This book, co-written by the owner of my company, was interesting. The ideas about work were good but, as I do not plan to start my own business, it wasn't as intersting to me as it was to others. That being said, it had some great ideas for anyone who works in a bigger business and I found it interesting from a HR standpoint.

Like the the One Minute Manager which is what gave him his name, this one is worth reading, but wouldn't be if it was much longer. (You can read it cover to cover in literally an hour or two.) No ground-breaking ideas here. Brings a nice focus to what ideas are most important.

A little story about a motivational speaker who starts and runs a business. Along the way he encounters mentors who share bulletized bits of wisdom. There was a lot of general self-help and business advice not specific to entrepreneurship, and the tone was too non-cynical.

I really enjoyed this book. I is the story of an ambious college grad as he sets out on a journey to fulfill all his dreams through running his own business. The authors give many valuable and interesting insights into modern-day business and customer service.

This book has some useful nuggets for information, but not a lot of concrete advice. Most philosophical pep talk. Plus the fictional story is pretty silly. But there were a few tips I liked and it takes no time at all to finish.

Some good nuggets that were new to the other "one minute" books, mostly at the start. Reprise of Raving Fans and The One Minute Manager might be good for people who haven't read those yet.
