I like this rhyme. It suggests to me that we receive many gifts in life (and not just tangible ones). And often times a gift doesn't work out the way we had planned, but then another one comes along. And even if they all disappear we are left with our relationships and, above all, ourselves. The art in this book is rustic and was or was designed to look as though it was painted on wood. This seems like a nice complement to a story that was popularized in this country in the Appalachian ...more
