After Puck’s serious injury at the end of the last book, Sabrina and the rest of the Grimms must take him to Faerie to heal. Thus Sabrina and Daphne find themselves returning home to New York City, but home isn’t nearly as idyllic as Sabrina remembered. There they encounter the obnoxious Faerie King Oberon, who turns out to be Puck’s father who banished him from Faerie, dwarves in the subway, pirates on the Staten Island Ferry, and mobster fairy godfathers, not to mention the Great and Pow...more

The Sisters Grimm series are my audiobook standbys. The narrator is fantastic and these are perfect for long drives in the car. The series is about two young girls, Daphne and Sabrina, who, after the disappearance of their parents and a year spent jumping from one wretched foster home to another, go to live with the grandmother they never knew they had in Fairyport Landing. The Grimm sisters find out that they are the descendants of the famed Brothers Grimm, who brought the fairy tale creatur...more

Book four in the Sisters Grimm series.

Where were these books when I was a kid? I guess a kid at heart is better than nothing. I am really enjoying these, and the fact that this one was set in NYC, just made it so much more enjoyable. My fave in the series thus far. The author has done a nice job with Serena and her sister, Daphne. They seem like real girls to me. We see new little layers of their personality in every book. I especially like that Serena is a normal hormonal tween, despite her abnormal existence. I enjoyed reading he...more

So far I have been loving The Sisters Grimm. Corny jokes abound, and the appearance of classic fairytale characters makes for a truly enjoyable read. I had high expectations for this book because I have enjoyed the rest of the series so much, but I was disappointed! Sabrina and Daphne Grimm are growing up and dealing with the obligations that come with being Grimms, but I felt like difficult problems were resolved too easily...maybe I shouldn't be so harsh considering this is a children's book b...more

Ooh ooh ooh! Really liked this book, which I expected to be a flat wannabe (I only picked it up to fill in time when I couldn't sleep). Reading the whole series now, from the top. Lots of character-driven action in a conflict-ridden milieu that lends each small story significance in a larger, series-spanning plot. Probably fun to read out loud to an open-mouthed listener, but my husband usually won't cooperate.

This book should proved to be a turning point in the series. It seems to promise some character growth from Sabrina, who has been tempermental at best so far. This was the first book that she didn't drive me crazy throughout. Other than her at times irritating attitude, and some characters being a bit off character as represented by their original stories (mostly the literature characters as opposed to the fairytale/nursury rhyme variety) I'm truly enjoying the story thus far.

In the first three books, the Sisters Grimm are apparantly "native new yorkers" and you believe it. But not when you read this. Don't get me wrong and all, but come on. New Yorkers don't go to central park and macy's and times square all the time. That's what tourists do. Macy's and Times Square are overcrowded and waaaay too noisy, and why would you go to the park all the time? You wouldn't. Also, normal people do not live on the east side, just really rich ones.

I don't want to give too much away, but I thought this book was r4eally good. The girls go to New York City and meet everafters there. They find that there are everafters (fairy tale folk) in the city as well and the evil everafter organization, the scarlet hand is trying to take over the world. They have to try to stop the destruction in the city.

The character "Puck" is such a huge part of this book which particularly struck a chord with me as I named a kitten Puck back in 1990 when I got her as a kitten (yes also named from Shakespeare's play) and sadly March 4, 2008 she passed away. So reading about the boy Puck's adventures in the book was greatly cathartic.

I just love this series. Michael Buckley is clever, and the characters are just so personable. I like the idea of the girls being descendants of the Brothers Grimm (hence, Sisters Grimm). It's just a fun and easy read. (Albeit I found two typos that I'm going to e-mail someone over there about for the reprint.)

I really like this series. Meleah & I have been listening to the audiobooks. LJ Ganser is a great narrator.
What I really like are all the characters pulled from children's literature. You just never know who will pop up.

So far, our favorite part is Puck being so smelly and insisting on following Sabrina around. Lots of very funny parts to balance out the danger and sadness. As big fans of the old Sinbad movies, we are thrilled to find him alive and working as Harbormaster at the Staten Island ferry!

The series is definetly getting better. Finally in this book we lose Sabrina's funk, which was getting really boring. If you are on the first three and about to give up because of Sabrina, stick it through to the end of this book and see if you don't like it better!

I am happily rereading this series for AR points. My children and I are having a contest, in which anyone who knows me knows I will win! This is one of my favorite series. Every new book is purchased before the spine is even cracked.

I love these books. They are so much fun. I really want to buy the collection of them someday so that I can read them to my kids. I think they will make excellent bed time stories.

This is a FANTASTIC book! I laughed through the entire book. While I do in fact love this book, I don't think that anyone under the age of 12 should read it.
