His eyes were concealed by expensive sunglasses which did not hinder his search for something sweet, young and naive. South Street was packed. Before his eyes, marched a parade of girls--most o ...more

Sarah Marie;
I love this book very much, I read it over the summer. Niara is certainly a book that all young teenage girls should read. Not only is it about boys and sex, but it also has a very important meaning to it. I love this book because it gives the reader a wake up call, it's interesting, and it teaches a lesson.

Niara a young girl lives with her grandmother and grandfather because her mom gave her up when she was three. Ever since then she has been used to her grandparents being her parents, until he

Another favorite book of mine was the nice story of Niara. Which was a young African American girl who backs to Philadelphia with her mother who she never lived her before. They clash and bump heads but finally they learn to appreciate each other and love each other. She has to deal with sex problems and peer pressure problems that are being faced by every teenagers. Great book interesting because it talks about a teenager girl who moves back with her mother who had her as a teenager and she was ...more

Great book interesting because it talks about a teenager girl who moves back with her mother who had her as a teenager and she was taking from her mom to leave with her grandmom but then once her grandmom dies she is sent to live with her mother. They clash and bomp heads . From this book I learned that many people have their struggles. This book talks how a teenage girl named Niara deals with not having a mother. In this book the girl Niara's mother had her at a young age and had to give Niara away to a relative. The controversy in this book occurs when Niara met her mother when she turned 16.

This book I dedicate to all of those fast little girls who wanna fit in and have sex. Well here's a tip, if you get pregnant, you wont be able to fit into your clothes let alone with a group of "grown" adolescents. This tells of a girls summer that can end smoothly or with "baggage."
