Grace Macpherson has gotten into a slump. Unable to grieve over her mother's death, and still reeling from being left at the alter by her wayward financee, she is just going through the motions.
Living in Beaufort, North Carolina things don't change much. So, Grace has decided that she will die a old maid, that everyone feels sorry for.
When her cousin, Megan who now lives in New York comes to visit to prepare for Megan's upcoming wedding, she surprises Grace with not only bringing her future hus

"The Art of Ethan" by Cara North is a story that will stay with you. North's characters grab your emotions and your heart.

Grace is a woman frozen in time. Although it's been four years since her mother died, she's never really accepted, or mourned, her passing. Since then, she's only been going through the motions of living, keeping her mother's house as a shrine to all those who have left her alone. Into this scene, her cousin comes home for a visit and brings her fiance and his brother. Each o
The first book in the Beaufort series by Cara North. Ethan is an artist living in New York. Grace is a teacher living in North Carolina. When Ethan goes with his brother, Chase, and his brother's finace, Megan, to Beaufort, North Carolina, to visit Megan's cousin, Grace, he doesn't expect to be attracted to the pretty redhead. When Ethan and Grace realize that Chase and Megan were hoping for them to get together, they decide to play along and pretend they are a couple. Who knew it would backfire ...more

The main focus of the story is the relationship between Ethan and Grace. Ethan has a stalker, but in my opinion that's secondary. Both Ethan and Grace have to learn to trust again and neither one wants to push the other into something they're not ready for. The supporting characters were great too. Megan and Chase are the catalysts behind Ethan and Grace meeting. Ethan isn't the one Megan wanted for Grace, but after Joshua canceled out of their trip, Ethan is the only one available. And he's ...more

I have no idea why this book is rated so highly! It's rubbish!
The suspense part of the plot is so contrived! It didn't make any sense!
Big disappointment! I was so looking forward to a good erotic suspense but even the sex scenes were boring!
Will definitely be skipping this author after this abysmal effort!

Meh...theres not a whole lot to say about this one....I mean, it was an okay book, it sounds better IMO, then it actually was though.

The best way to describe the book is easy...or maybe simple would be more apt, everything was laid out very neatly, and it's easy to follow a long. There's little to no angst, a couple secondary characters I wasn't too fond of, in particular the h's cousin( can you say diva?)

The main characters were okay...I mean I didn't dislike them, but I really didn't like them

Horrible, I really can't understand why this book has a raiting so high, I gave up after page 80 or so, I've struggled with it from page one.
The POW switch every few paragraphs, sometimes every LINE, too confusing IMHO. The characters are horribles, the depressed cheerleder, the high class cousin from NY (one of the wrost characters I've ever seen in my reading experience), the boy-toy teddybear soon to be housband and the 'artist' who have nothing artistic. You can' say that their actions are O
Loved this story of Grace & Ethan. Little bit of "home-grown" romance, a bit of drama, even some mystery. This story left me breathless, cheering for the couple and laughing with glee when they realize how much they need each other. The storyline with the rest of Ethan's family and Grace's cousin makes this a story I could read over and over just for the love intertwined within it. I probably will!

I gave it a middle of the road rating because I thought the story line had potential, and it was funny in parts. I couldn't give it more, however, because the writing was difficult to follow. Sometimes I had to re-read paragraphs to decipher who the speaker was. A little frustrating but I continued to the end...

I read this book in one day... I loved it.. I cried, I laughed, I cringed, I wanted to slap the DIVA, I wanted to choke everybody but mostly I wanted to smile as it was a happy book. No there was no extra complicated plot or extra hot love scenes, but there was love and real life complications and humor and many other things that made this a good book.

I had never read anything by Cara North, however, I am so glad that have. The Beaufort Series is one I would recommend to everyone of my friends. How could you not love her characters? Grace & Ethan, the story line, the sex...great! Don't want to ruin it for anyone. We'll just say, it kept my attention the whole way through. I had this series read in a weekend.
