Absolutely great book of (reworked) fairy tales, with the female character as the focus of the story i.e., the queen/the “witch,” etc. This book was as baffling, strange and fascinating to read as “histoire de la chauve-souris.” One guesses that the symbols used allude to real places and situations, but they are as difficult and puzzling to figure out as waking up from a dream and thinking about it. In French.
