Unlike many other vampire books, it was vampires that were evil and they seek blood, and they kill their victims. But in this series, they have a new race of vampires. In this book, debby, alice and cirque du freak come to attack steve. Steve has a son that is realy darrens nefue. Steve captures and kills shancus. ~I love all of the Cirque Du Freak series and I am sad that I have only one left to read. This book is full of action, drama, and suspense with a little bit of horror mixed in. The ending was very revealing to me. I have always harbored hope that Steve could be a good guy, that he too could feel remorse. But what he did at the end, was so terrible, I knew there was no way there was even a shred of goodness left in him. A pity though. I like it when people turn over a new leaf. It amazes me how Alice is risking her life to help the vampires, i get why Debbie is helping, because she's in love with Darren, but Alice was just a police officer when Vancha (another main character) captured her as a hostage. She didn't even know that the war would decide the future in a dramatic way, she just helped.

Lord of the Shadows is not quite as painful to read as Lake of Souls. In fact, I think it is leaps and bounds better. It still does not make this a great book, but it is definitely an improvement upon the past several books in this series.

In this book Darren starts to come in contact with a new destiny and a new mission. Another thing is that Darren and his group are taking a big lost, one is that the enemy clan is taking other and grouping up new members.
I could connect to Darren because he had problems with his friends and i also have problems with my family members passing away like my aunt.

i recently finished a book called Lord of the Shadows by Darren Shan. This book is about a boy called Darran Shan who is a half-vampire. For me, I really enjoyed Lord of the Shadows, if for nothing else than for the general plotline of it all. Darren's story is rapidly coming to an end and the reader definitely understands the heaviness of that in this novel. As is Shan's custom, he reintroduces characters that the readers have struck up bonds with, however we realize now more than ever that these characters have developed and hardened in the time of the War. Lord of the shadows is book 11 of the cirque du freak series and it is about Darren becoming the lord of the shadows, well learning more about him and he learns that if he defeats Steve he will become the lord of the shadows but if Steve defeats Darren, steve will be the lord of the shadows. Darren also learns that Steve is father and he has a son named Darius but what s dont know is that darius is the son of steve and Annie Shan who was Darren's little sister before he became a vampire.
