Creed Sherman proves to be a brave, daring hero with more than just words. The reconciliation with his family is even more daring. I can't imagine how awful it would be to find your ex hooked up with your father. In this story is an overlooked portrait of the struggling working class in early American cities.
This is an interesting story, with some good themes. It got me to do a little digging into the history involved. It was interesting to have it set in Los Angeles and its environs at the end of the 19th century.
