So you want to be a leader huh? It is a lot more than first class travel, a big office and issuing a stream of one-way demands to your underlings. Are you sure you are cut out for it? Many think they are yet not so many can step up to the mark and deliver.

I read this book right before taking on a newly established leadership role with another organization. The learnings from this book could not have come at a better time. There are too many take-ways form this book to list on this comment, but here are a few of my favorites: the theory of the megaphone effect; ideas around using a journal to keep track of patterns and a way to stop "bad" behavior before it happens; chapter six and the use of the “what they really want” sections (I thought they ...more
