"I'm here because of my family and friends. Family who encouraged me try, to overcome something called PTSD. Anyone with this affliction, take heart, keep trying and don't let it live for you. Nothing's easy, but it can be done."
This comes from Jay the main character in the book, it took a woman called Leda to come into his life for him to reach this point and I will admit to getting tearing eyed at the end of the book. This was such a heart-warming story, you can't help but fall in love with Ja

Loved the setting.

Cherime MacFarlane Heart Of The Hunter.

I chose this book to read not because of the book blurb but because of the author’s biography. Cherime MacFarlane knows and loves the country she writes about and Copper Basin, Alaska, was as important to the story as were Jay and Leda.

The romance was sweetly hot, no

I loved this love story!! I understood Leda's trepidation about considering having a relationship with Jay (who suffers from PTSD) after dealing with her own cousin who suffered from the same issue. Jay won her over though and I was cheering them on as they refused to quit ignoring their immediate attraction. Not only did I fall in love with every character in the book but I fell in love with Alaska because the author pulls you in and you feel like you're really there. The was a great book from ...more

I can't rate this book.
Good concept. A few great lines. A view into the struggles of those suffering from PTSD and their families.

Downside.....there are so many editing errors I was unable to really get into the story.

Although born in New Orleans, I am proud to call myself an Alaskan. I have lived here for 37 years, I have lived through -40 degrees, hauled water, made bear bacon and live in a cabin. I have used a fish wheel to catch salmon coming up the Copper River. I was my second husband's chief mechanic's helper and only roadie. I have cut firewood on shares, worked as a cocktail waitress, then as a ...more
