Asher of the Angelmen, the 2nd book in the Angelmen paraquel, will breed some familiarity for those who have read Amity of the Angelmen, the 1st in the series. In Asher we meet Jeremiah, the angel assigned to Asher to reveal who Asher really is and give him his mission. In Amity this job was assigned to the angel Armand. Like Amity, Asher's mission is also to "Protect the Cause". And of course there will be a final showdown involving Satan.

However, this is not just a rehash of another story. The

There are four paraquels in the the Angelmen series - Amity, Asher, Caedmon, and Malachi - each chronicling the story of how that angelman was presented the truth about their demon heritage by their guiding angel. The last chapter of each book shows the fateful meeting of these four leaders from the perspective of that character.

Asher is my favorite of the four paraquels. In my opinion, his character had the farthest to grow throughout this entire series, but needed the least push. At the beginn

I accidentally read this one first. It’s my favorite. Slonaker does an excellent job of growing Asher, and as he grew, I grew more to liking him. The dialogue is very good in this one, also. I couldn’t put the book down.
