For those interested in a series, this is the fourth in the series of Kirkwood Lake, although it seems they can be read in any order.

Gianna Contanga has lost her cop husband to a shooting and has miscarried their child. Her life, although crowded with her Italian family and her Mother-in-law, seems too much for her. She and her grandmother come to Kirkwood Lake to begin life anew. They have a vintage clothing store to start and will have twins to care for as Gianna is now carrying her husband's...more
OUTSTANDING! Ruthy, I have really enjoyed the KIRKWOOD LAKE series and this one, LOVING THE LAWMAN, is wonderful! The Lawman, Seth, is a man of every woman's dream! Tall, handsome, loving, caring, tender, compassionate, honest, loyal, a Christian ....well, you get the point! The girl, Gianna, is to be admired for her courage to do what she believed in her heart was the right thing to do for her embryos and not listen to those that were against her idea. I thought it was a wonderful story, and un...more
Loving The Lawman one of the Kirkwood Lake Series book, was a good book. Gianna Costanza moves to Kirkwood Lake. To start life in a new town. She meets Deputy Sheriff Seth Campbell and his twelve year old daughter. She isn't sure she can give her heart to a police officer. Her father was a State Trooper and killed. Her husband was a State Trooper and killed. Does she want to have a broken heart again if something happens to Seth and for her unborn twins to lose someone, in their life. A lot goes...more
“Loving the Lawman” by Ruth Logan Herne is the fourth book in her Kirkwood Lake series but it can and does stand on its own very well. I hope that there is at least one more story, for there were some pretty interesting details that were dropped in this book that could so easily make another book.

I have to say that I am not entirely sure about this book. Yes I found it very enjoyable with a plot that is understandable in a way, conflict that tugged at the heart, characters pretty well written th...more

This is an awesome book. It is a real page turner. I could feel like I was right there. I loved their dependence on God to get them through the difficulties of life and the healing that was so needed. This is a very moving story. I loved Gianna and Seth and hope I will get to read more of them. Ruth Logan Herne is a very gifted writer and I want to read more of her books. This is a book I will want to read again.
Nice, relaxing book--it was great for getting my mind calmed down before going to bed.
I don't usually rate these so highly, but this one was better written than most.
