A must read book, loved it!

Maddie is drawn in to a wealthy family, as the long lost daughter, she's not overly welcomed, and is quizzed by her could be sisters fiancé West. That's just the start....

It's in no way a hearts and flowers romance book, you'd struggle to find the word Love in there (it is though), it's full of people keeping secrets and with their own agendas....

I really enjoyed the storyline, characthers and the authors style.

Maddy is a complex characther at first look, but when

Matilyn Delacourt has had the worst life imaginable. She was raised by a woman, Carmen, who could care less what happened to her, and didn’t believe anything she told her. A victim of abuse and rape from Carmen’s boyfriend’s son, Kirkland, she found herself pregnant at the obscenely young age of 13. Putting her daughter, Molly, up for the adoption was the only option she had to keep her safe. Or so she thought…

Fast forward quite a few years and Mattie has learned some information about her real

Looking for something new and intriguing? I found this little gem by complete accident and was/am beyond thrilled that I found this author. Fan Girl For Life!

I feel like a giddy little school girl. I have been in a reading funk the past 6 or 7 books and I was quickly loosing hope that I was going to find that breathe of fresh air…Thank the Reading Gods that I found this one.

I love a great mystery. Throw in some dark and twisted family drama and I am hooked like a fat kid in a candy store. Some

A Year of You is a brilliant and exceptionally well written novel that grips you right from the start and covers several different subject matters within the main story. Mattie Delacort is an amazing character who has to overcome the horrors of abuse in her past, face her biological family who do not know she exists, solve a 20 year old mystery and find a way to escape the clutches of her demented, possessive and evil foster brother. Mattie has known about her family since she was a girl but it ...more

A Year of You by author A.D. Roland is a sinister, twisted roller coaster of a ride. Mattie, who was born Evelyn, has been asked to pose as her missing sister, Elaine, in order to find out what actually happened to the little girl who disappeared in the night so many years ago. The members of the McKendrick family are hiding secrets that they don't want brought to light, and at least one of them will do anything to keep things quiet. But who? Mattie, who has her own horrific past to deal with, ...more

This was an interesting story, it was FULL of suspense, and medium on romance (both erotic and general). There were a few violently "dark" parts, most of them memories, that weren't too gritty (just enough to make you cringe a bit).

The beginning was VERY difficult for me: there was a LOT of information to process, many different characters, and it was a bit confusing. Once the story picked up, and you know who the key players are, it does get a bit interesting.

I can't say that I liked the charact
This was a dark story. It is compelling, scary, violent and just plain mean, at times. The relationships between all the characters make you catch your breath wondering where the story is going to go with new information discovered and it makes you scream in frustration when it doesn't go the direction you thought it might. The author keeps you running and by the end you will be panting. There is a love story, although different, there is drama and mystery, but the violence and secrets wrapped ...more

####If you have reservations reading about forced sexual situtations this book may not be for you####

The truth hurts. At least, that's the way it has been for Mattie her entire life. Always alone, and being forced to do things against her will, Mattie Smith has lived a rough life.

When a phone call out of the blue sends her to Florida to pretend to be a long lost daughter of the wealthy McKendricks, Mattie hops on a plane.

West, a friend of the long-disappeared Elaine, is sent to befriend Mattie

Wow! This book will take you to some scary places. You think you have family issues; they are nothing like what Mattie has had to deal with. Life has handed Mattie one bowl of shit after another. So yes she has hardened her heart but she isn’t cold. When West manages to sneak past the barriers he doesn’t do right by her. He is torn by the ghost of her sister, the girl he thinks is her sister and Mattie. Watching them work it all out will drag emotions out of you that you weren’t aware you had.

A Year of You is a very interesting story to read. It is about a girl who is in a terrible situation, then forced to try to fraud money from a very wealthy family and then falls in love only to be back into a horrid situation that she finds to be scary. The guy who puts her through all this tragedy is a mean and to me unhuman kind of person. If you like to read stories that are a little erotic, has many twist and turns, love and an ending that you really can't figure out. Then this is the story ...more

ABSOLUTELY loved the rawness of the story. Between the decisions you make, you have to own every one of them. The girl had strength and wish she told them all to go to hell. It was a great book and I enjoyed it greatly.

Good storyline

I really enjoyed the storyline. The book really needs to be edited. There are a lot of typeo's and some sentences that make no sense. I fell in love with Mattie but in some ways I found myself thinking West was an ass.
