Awesome historical portrait of young men who became smokejumpers because they were conscientious objectors. Spat upon and even beaten up because of their pacifistic beliefs, these young men showed their mettle by becoming firefighters doing some of the most difficult fire work there is.
Highly worth reading, though of more interest to a firefighter or historian than others.
