Billionaire playboy Robert Chatham is as bloodthirsty as it gets. Snarky and self-obsessed, he has a new girl every day of the week. What the London tabloids don’t know is the reason Robb acts like a lady-killer: to avoid having to kill them. A four-hundred year old vampire, he feeds and moves on, never getting attached to any girl.

Until Liz.

I enjoyed this series but I was a bit bored with all the medical terminology. Working in the healthcare field, I was able to keep up so it wasn't like the book made me feel dumb just...bored.

I wish it would have elaborated more on the relationship between Liz and Robb but maybe there will be a sequel? Although, I couldn't find anything that really indicated there would be. Bummer because I would read the sequel in hopes of seeing what developers between these two and if Thad's wink was a signal

Why I Picked It Up
Heartbitten sounded like a promising novel based on the synopsis, so I couldn’t wait to read it!

Heartbitten tells the story of vampire Robb and human Liz. Robb was turned almost 400 years ago, and has been searching for a cure to vampirism in a college lab. Liz is one of the new graduates working in that lab, trying to find the cure to blood cancer, which took her sister’s life many years ago. The tension between the two is thick, but Robb can’t risk her finding out about w

The Good

The concept of this story was good. It has promise and could be amazing. Robb's character has so much going for him. Liz's character is the shy virginal type that you want to see get the guy.

The Bad

This story has so many good ingredients, but the final product, not good, something is missing. Robb and Liz's chemistry, it felt like there was no intens

This book had so much potential. A sweet scientist, a billionaire vampire, and set in the UK. It should have been off the charts steaming and hot. The problem-- it wasn't. It was just OK....tepid...lukewarm...and boring at times.

I love vampire stories...especially steamy ones because the whole supernatural thing automatically lends itself to hot romance. This book had solid writing, but just took a while to get going. There was a lot of set

I enjoyed the story line and wished for it to dig deeper into Liz and Robb's relationship. I did get a little bored with the medical terminology. I was disappointed at the ending, possible sequel? I would purchase sequel because I would like to see where these characters end up. It really didn't delve into how Robb became a vampire and it barely touched on them becoming a couple. As with all of Aubrey's books, it is a good read and I would recommend it.

I wanted to truly love this story, but for now it's somewhere between an "eh" and "I like it".

I'd say that I'd compare this novel to a beautifully wrapped okay present. The structure and writing of this novel is as beautiful as a neatly wrapped gift, but the contents of the story are like a subpar gift. I'd say my reaction was the same too. I see it and I get excited, but after digging in through it's contents I'm left slightly less satisfied. Let's start with the writing itself:

Great premise, not enough story

I'm not sure if there's a sequel planned for this - I looked and could find no indication of one - so I have to base my review on this book as a standalone. First, I love the premise and the character of Robb. He was very fleshed out and real and it was easy to fall in love with him. He was by no means perfect, and for once he wasn't just a billionaire arrogant jerk; he really cared about others and wanted love. Liz was fine a a heroine, but I didn't love her like

A new book from Aubrey Rose and this time it's featuring vampires and not werewolves . Fans of her work will be quite surprised by this different approach to paranormal romance as this time the author takes a more scientific approach.
Liz is an American studying in London and her chosen field is haematology as she lost her sister to cancer and now believes that the cure lies hidden within human blood. Liz has dedicated her life to this cause and doesn't even have time for dating but meeting Robb

This book is described as New Adult, a class of book I am just learning about, even though I believe I have read other books that are classified as New Adult as well. In my opinion they are just edger YA novels with slightly older characters, more graphic sex and stronger swear words. I'm torn between a two and three star rating for this book, perhaps I will wait until the end of my review to make the finial decision.

I know the work that goes into writing a book so I feel bad rating this so low. I am a hopeless romantic and I love supernatural books so I read the synopsis (which i'm sure you have read before reading this) and it was right up my ally.

*I just realized why I don't like the story. It's like a romance novel where the guy and girl meet, are unsure, decide to get together and it ends there. It feels like the whole book is the first third of a romance book where we have been introduced to the chara

This was really disappointing. Heartbitten begins with a lot of promise and intrigue concerning vampires and how the main character, Robert Chatham (Robb), comes to be, but the reader is quickly overwhelmed with medical terminology and wool gathering thoughts of Robb and the heroine, Liza. Not speaking about the lovely, Aubrey Rose specifically here, but another author once told me that many authors can get very lazy when it comes to research on a book

This book felt like an amazing start to our main characters' story. That's the problem with a story like this that's probably written as a standalone with no predetermined sequel: it just does not give the reader enough. I have to say this book was written very well, but I felt Aubrey Rose only gave us part of the story. There has to be more to this heroine and hero.

Emotionally engaging from beginning to end!

Robb was only 13 years old when he was attacked by a black ghost and turned into the monster modern men call vampire. He has adapted to the change, but never stopped searching for a cure. His heart was frozen years ago by the loss of his childhood love. Now he uses women for sexual gratification, and to obtain the blood he requires in order to survive, but refuses to allow himself to ever love again. Haunted by his past, he lives his life isolated and a

There's not much doubt about this one: it says right under the title, "A New Adult Vampire Romance." Liz is an American grad student living in London who's a bit of a clutz. Robb is the enigmatic benefactor of the lab she works in on campus. He's also a 400-year-old vampire who was in love with a girl named Eliza once. For the first time since (and after many, many, many attempts), he's discovered the girl who might take her place.

Not only does Liz look a bit like Eliza, but she's also intereste

This book had all the ingredients to be an awesome book, but I felt like it fell short of the mark. I wanted to love this story but it ended up being ok, because of the lack of progression in the story and the quick ending that left me with loads of questions.

This book was too short to properly develop the story line. The structure and writing were not the problem at all. I am actually considering reading another novel from the

Robert Chapman became a vampire in his childhood, but devoted his life to relentlessly look for a "cure" that could render him his mortality back; after hundreds if years of loneliness, avoiding any meaningful relationship and with just the loving memory of his childhood sweetheart to warm his cold life, he meets Liz, who strongly evokes his lost love, Eliza. Overall Rating: 2 Rockin' Stars!

The cover of this book and the blurb had me wanting to read it, but as I got further into the story I realized the plot wasn't developing and it was not building enough to keep me interested. Liz and Robb's relationship seemed discombobulated and didn't grow as I read the book. There was no chemistry or intrigue. I was left feeling there should have been more and the ending was like huh? what?

This is a very entertaining vampire story with a bored snobby Billionaire playboy Robb (Robert Chatham) who just happens to be a vampire and a very backwards, shy PHD major from America, Liz. But things aren’t always what they seem and as the story progresses you learn to love Robb and you see that he is truly an amazing soul.

Liz didn’t catch my attention till about half way through the book. I felt her character was not a strong as Robb’s though she was very likable and able to stand up agains

I have mixed feelings about this book. It was okay. Not bad, but not that good, in my opinion.
In a way I enjoyed this book. It was different from the usual vampire books and it did have some good moments in the book, especially in the earlier parts. The sparks between Rob and Liz were sizzling. I was even excited reading about their first encounters. I like the first few chapters but somewhere along the way it fell apart. The chemistry terms were too technical for me to enjoy. The story became

"Heartbitten" was an "ok" read and the abrupt ending (and it was not even a "real" ending) left me dissatisfied.
The story of Robb, the playboy vampire and innocent Liz had an interesting plot, but the background of Robb could've been told with more details.

Love scenes were sensual (but sometimes weird: calling the vagina "it"? Seriously?), but I felt like the romance department was lacking because the pace of the story was just too slow.

Long ago Robert Chatham realized he would never love another, he has spent his four hundred years proving exactly that with rotation of women and playboy ways. He is looking for something though, a cure to his blood disorder and knows he is getting closer. What he doesn't need is a distraction but he finds it anyway, flustered American student Liz. Liz is one of the people working on his special project and Robb can't seem to stay away. He wants her but he knows he shouldn't have her.

This book was a cute love story between a scientist and a vampire. As a scientist, I wholeheartedly endorse scientist paranormal romance twists!

Liz is a scientist/grad student running a blood lab. Her boss just happens to be Robb, a vampire trying to figure out the key to the healing power of his blood. Obviously, this vampire has some emotional baggage (what vampire doesn't?), but they would both be crazy to fight the insane amount
