Phaedra Conners has been in short supply of normal ever since she shoved a car full of explosives off of a parking garage. Domestic terrorism would be an unappreciated skill set on any resume, so she’s a little surprised when she gets hired on as the personal secretary of multi-millionaire, Gabriel Evans.

Her new boss isn’t your average CEO, and when he finds himself falli

"I was going to push this bitch of a car (because, according to my last boyfriend, cars were females and with its sleek black leather interior this particular vehicle just screamed “vagina”) off the parking garage roof.
What about the innocent people below? you may ask. You could kill pedestrians! Fuck the pedestrians.
The pedestrians wouldn’t cover the cost of my insurance if my car got scratched or stolen simply because I’d relegated it to a poor man’s parking space. So I pushed and I shoved

When I read this book there wasn't a uk review but the 5 US reviews were all 5 star so I figured it must be good, right. It started ok, funny in places and to be honest it looked like a good book but then I just didn't get it, the story, as such seemed too long and dragged out, it didn't flow or even really make much sense, it lost my interest fairly early on I even had a couple of breaks, I kept coming back purely because I figured I must have been missing something but in all honesty I just ...more

*Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock*

This is the first book I have read by this author so I did not know exactly what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised.
The story starts with our Herione, Phaedra Conners, a reporter, who unwittingly manages to foil a terrorist plot. From this she is pulled into the world of the mysterious Gabriel Evans, a billionaire with a shady story that the reporter in Phaedra can't resist. She is not expecting to find out what she does, however, or
I really enjoyed reading this book. I kinda have girl crush on Phaedra, she is just such a smartass! I love it . I think kissed by moonlight was a very good start to a new series, it kept me figuratively and sometimes literally "holding my breath waiting for what would happen next". I thought the plot and werewolves, wildhunt , ect were very fresh and new ,different. The action was great , the suspense awesome , the romance.... fell alittle flat for me :( don't get me wrong they had some ...more

This is the first book in an interesting series about weres and other supernatural creatures.
It's about a troublemaker reporter, Phaedra, that ends up investigating a mysterious CEO, Gabriel Evans. She ends up finding out that he's the Alpha of a werewolf pack and because of her, the weres are discovered by the general public. Gabriel is captured and tortured by the FBI with the help of a shadowy group, the Huntsmen, and in the process of liberating him she finds that there are worse things than

There were a couple things I loved about this book: the premise and the main character.

The premise was promising. I'm a shifter fan, so I liked the concept of there being weres and hounds.

Phaedra was awesome. I loved her wit and humor. I laughed out loud several times...especially during her covert operations. I think I'll start humming the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE theme song when I'm being sneaky. Also, I thought it was hilarious when she pulled her inner Sean Connery to the surface. Seriously, this
More Paranormal than Romance, although there is a touch of it. This is a great story and a really different take on werewolf legend. I would've loved more romance, but the lack of it most certainly Did Not mess the story up in Any way! Actually, this book is quite different from any other Were book I have Ever read. This is a good thing, my fellow readers! It also entails some good humor, which I always welcome and adore. AND...I want to know what happens next in the series, therefore, I WILL BE ...more

I don't like the heroine, but ...

The heroine isn't a nice person. The hero is better, but not as well developed. Very unusual story that keeps rolling. No real steam, although there's some sexual tension in the first half of the book. No worries if you're a reader who doesn't go for sex scenes.

When I wasn't absolutely enthralled in the action and story line, I was cracking up with laughter! I can't wait to read Haunted by Moonlight, next.

Looooooved it. Sometimes it felt a little disjointed but in all honesty it didn't detract from the story at all. Strange but true. True enough that I just purchased the trilogy!

I have to admit that the name and the cover of this book intrigued me. I've read a few books/series Fae related and I have to say this one is the worse.

There are a few reasons:

1. First time Phaedra meets Gabriel, he fights and bites a man, and she doesn't even blink about it. Who does that? She just sits there and starts talking to him like nothing happened. The man she met just seconds ago and the one who has his hands full of blood. Literally. That brings me to the point nomber two...
2. He doe
So I ‘bought’ this book because the cover was nice and the synopsis intrigued me. I guess I never learned that pretty packages do not always have the best contents.

I decided to go on and finish the book because I was hoping that it would actually get better. If I’m honest, I skimmed quite a bit of it, looking for something that could keep me interested. I did like some of the verbal sparring that was done.
I didn’t care for Phaedra- ‘Psycho Phaedra’ would probably be a better moniker than ‘Fiery

This booked caused me to completely loose track of time and I enjoyed it quite a bit.
You know its going to be interesting when the lead character gets so mad when a car is parked in her parking spot that she smashed the drivers window, puts it in neutral and pushes the car off the top of the car parking building. Thats Fiery Phaedra for you. Shes snarky, sassy and highly amusing.

Of course after that things change dramatically for her. For some reason she looses her job and it seems nobody wants

This novel was offered free on Amazon so I thought I'd give it a chance. It started out well. It began with a heroine with serious anger management issues. I wish the author had focused more on that angle. Phaedra was one of the most interesting heroines I've ever encountered in this genre. Unfortunately, Phaedra's story quickly became Gabriel's story, and he really wasn't as interesting. Once Gabriel entered the scene, the book seemed to devolve into a confusing mix of were/fae/FBI plot lines ...more

Where was the romance?

While this definitely qualified as paranormal, there was little to no romance, unless you consider asking someone (in the middle of an attack, no less) to be your "mate" as a technicality as romance, and some scenes where he seems innately drawn to her, but they're not very well executed.

A reporter experiences road rage when she finds a weird van parked in her spot at the office parking garage and in that rage pushes the van off the garage, where it explodes because it was

While I liked the story, I'm not sure how to feel about the alpha wolf/Hellhound Gabriel. He isn't exactly alpha-like, but he has this crazy, slightly unhinged vibe that makes it work. For all that he wasn't a typical werewolf novel alpha, he was sweet in a cute puppy way. I could see how raw power gave him alpha status even without the man's-man alpha macho thing that many novel alpha's use to hold their claim. Phaedra was, oddly enough, perfect for him. Slightly unbalanced herself, she evens ...more

Gabriel that boy sure is protective, "someone shot up my apartment." He made a dangerous, unhappy sound in the back of his throat and I tried to appear very small in my seat. "I'm not taking you home," he snapped. His tone was bossy enough that it raised my own hackles." Gabriel he's just too cute at times, "I could hear the shrug in his voice. "You know. Whatever it is that women use to survive from day to day. Girl things." He's also very animalistic at times which I freakin' loved, "calm ...more

I quite liked Phaedra and her anger management issues and Gabriel was fine too. What was missing was any real sense of connection. I mean it started well with Phaedra & Gabriel being thrown together through her job ( & snooping) and the mutual attraction but then suddenly they are mated with no real progression in the relationship ( either physical or emotional). It seemed to come out of no-where and was never even really discussed. The action kind of overtook things without every really ...more

I thought this was a pretty decent story line, but not a romance. I actually felt very little romantic connection between the H and h. The author seems very creative with lots of world building, and it ended with a lead in to more books for the series. I found it slightly confusing in parts. I really loved the way the heroine was written, with her funny personality and quick comebacks. The hero was an alpha, but not a possessive possessive-alpha type. Secondary characters were enjoyable. this book was interesting to say the least. you really didn't understand at some points what the check was going on. and the name of some things were just to out there to go with. I may be new to the paranormal side of romance novels but even I couldn't keep up sometimes. and maybe it was the editing but when she just starts talking as a third person. I really hate that.

I don't like to write bad reviews, but I really not understanding all the good reviews for this book. when there are really so

Ok, this book confused me and I don't like being confused. We have a snarky, sarcastic, borderline-psychotic heroine, a hero who alternated between the hound of hell (literary) and a playful poochy who would pee on your leg to mark his territiry, mythology infodump that left me reeling and buffled, no romance but an interesting storyline. So in effort to figure things out, I'll give this series another go just in hope to see Phedra's reaction if Gabriel gets fleas or something else that might ...more
This book was a little weird. It was taking some old myths and stringing them up with other myths. I liked the originality, but not sure if the concept succeeded. I did love how this book had me cracking up at the end, but not sure if I liked the constant result being told before the details and story developed. It did get a little annoying. But the little girl is adorable and I can't wait to see how her develompet will happen.

Also Why the Hell haven't we had a major frisk and/or sex scene? I f

Loved, loved it!!!!

I've read a lot of werewolf books on here, but this one is by far my favorite. love the humor and the action in it. Adrianne Brooks is a very talented writer. she made me fall in love with the characters and the visual is great. I couldn't stop laughing from the first page because the heroine is so funny. I would love to have a best friend like Chandra and a man like Gabriel. can't wait to read the second book.I would recommend this book and am willing to read any other books

I cannot help myself...I adore Phaedra. She is such an unlikely urban fantasy heroine. She has anger management and impulse control issues, horrible eating habits, and truly hysterical friends. And she gets into so much trouble by accident. The bad guys are very scary, and the world sucked me in and made me care. The Wild Hunt trilogy is very dark and quite gruesome in spots with a light touch of romance, and I loved it.

Okay I will admit the main reason I am reading this is to find out why she pushed a car full of explosives off a parking garage. That got my attention. Reading some of the reviews I know going into this the heroine might just be a big pain in the ass. We'll see...

I was bored most of this time. I can't get into this at all. The heroine made me want to scream from page 1. This was a disappointment for me

I found this book to be an interesting yet sometimes confusing read.....I enjoyed the somewhat different take of weres and shadows....Gabriel was an interesting combination of all things paranormal.....Phaedra was a funny, human who finds herself in the middle of it all. I suppose I was looking for more romance from Gabriel and Phaedr,,,,,they were mated after all.....

Great read

This was a surprisingly good read. I got this story for free and I have to say I got a great deal more than I expected. I love this spin on werewolves. I love it when a book can change things from the normal but not in a bad way. I really look forward to reading the next book in this series.
