This is one of the worst books that i have read this year. The only reason i read it, was that my danish teacher forced my class to read it doing the fall holidays.

I got the impression that the use of metaphorical speaking throughout the book, was done solely for the sake of using metaphors. It wasn't even particular creative, or interesting; it was just brutal to read through – perhaps that's why my danish teacher likes it.

The story is basically about a bunch of random people, all showing self-

Horrible. Just horrible. This book is so badly written, it makes me cringe to my core. The whole book is just bad metaphors, trying to be "art", but failing. Don't read this book, unless you have to for school, like me. But maybe listen to it as an audiobook or such, at it would be far easier than reading this, because trust me, you want to put it down and never look at it again.

Recommends it for: People who find Shakespeare too old-fashioned
What would happen if Romeo and Juliet was written in Denmark in the 21st century? This book is the answer.
As much as I would like it to be good, it just isn't. The idea is "old" and unoriginal. Although is centers around the whole conflict of racism in Denmark, it's just not interesting enough and more like a book you just read because you're bored. You already know the plot if you've read or watched Romeo and Juliet before, so you won't be surprised by any events.

Read this if you need Romeo a

Soft, beautiful and touching. Liked it very much. It reminded me of the days I was desperately in love with Scandinavian literature and chose Danish language as my speciality.
And of course one can never spoil Romeo-and-Juliet plot. But still very, very beautiful done.

It was well-written but (a I don't really like the genre, (b it is near impossible to love a book you are forced to read, where you have to note down what happened after each chapter...
