Ehm, che dire..
La meccanica del cuore é stato paragonato ai film di tim burton.. Vediamo.. i film mi piacciono tutti, o x lo meno mi piacciono quelli che ho visto, ma questo libro.. mi ha lasciato con l'amaro in bocca..

Alle prime pagine l'avrei definito come una dolce favola, carina anche se x alcune immagini decisamente non adatta ai bambini.. una favola x adulti? forse, ma solo, come anche precedentemente detto, nelle prime pagine x come descrive il miracoloso salvataggio del bambino nato con il cuore ghiacciato nel giorno piú freddo del mondo, grazie a una donna, definita strega da molti, che gli ha applicato un piccolo orologio di legno per aiutare il suo a battere..
Un orologio a cucu, che a parte il terribile rumore delle lancette, fa trasparire le emozioni di Jack facendo "cucu! ".
L'ho definito dolce anche perchè questo cuoricino meccanico ha cominciato a battere all'impazzata solo quando ha sentito una giovane cantante andalusa e il suo unico scopo e stato quella di rivederla..
Le scene un po' cruente non mancano, scorre decisamente parecchio sangue e le immagini che mi si sono affollate nella mente durante questi passaggi le avrei volentieri evitate..
Ma é x questo che e stato paragonato ai film di tim burton, no?
Non so, ma a me fa più effetto leggere di scene vietate ai minori che non vederle.. é lo stesso anche x voi?

La storia viene raccontata tutta dal punto di vista del piccolo jack, anche la sua nascita..
Tutto il racconto é accompagnato da un ingenuitá disarmante dei protagonisti., ma se si considera che la storia si svolge quando i protagonisti hanno 15 anni, si puo soprassedere su questo fatto..

Non ho trovato lo stile usato di mio gradimento.
Nonostante la storia venga raccontata dal punto di vista del protagonista, cosa che di solito lega il lettore ai sentimenti provati nel romanzo, questa volta la scintilla non é scoccata a causa del lessico un po troppo "contorto" (passatemi il termine).
Forse anche questo si puo collegare a tim burton?
Forse, ma paragonare film a libri é come paragonare una pera a una mela: entrambi sono frutti come romanzo e film fanno entrambi parte dell'arte, ma sono comunque diversi.
Ovviamente non posso raccontare il finale, ma diró solamente che a me ha suscitato tanta tristezza..
Non mi sento di consigliarlo appieno, ma spero che questa recensione vi abbia aiutato a valutare questo libro.(less)

"A Mecânica do Coração" é sem dúvida uma das histórias fofinhas que por aí andam a assolar os corações apaixonados.

Ensina uma grande lição de vida. . .

As suas personagens são caricatas, sendo que vale muito a pena conhecê-las para nos enternecermos e fazermos força para que o "litlle Jack" fique com a sua Miss Acácia nos meandros de um coração que se diz mecânico mas que é o mais humano dos humanos. . .

Dicen que no hay que juzgar un libro por su portada y…
1.- Es cierto.
2.- Nadie lo hace xD

Cuando vi la portada y leí la sinopsis, no pude evitar imaginarme la historia como una película de Tim Burton… aluciné algo como Edward manos de tijeras, solo que en lugar de manos, corazón… y en lugar de tijeras, un reloj; y desde que todas las historias de Burton me gustan, este libro fue directo a mi lista de lecturas. Y ya que estamos, sip. Este libro tendrá adaptación.

Cuando vi la portada y leí la sinopsis, no pude evitar imaginarme la historia como una película de Tim Burton… aluciné algo como Edward manos de tijeras, solo que en lugar de manos, corazón… y en lugar de tijeras, un reloj; y desde que todas las historias de Burton me gustan, este libro fue directo a mi lista de lecturas. Y ya que estamos, sip. Este libro tendrá adaptación.

La historia empieza hermoooosa, mágica, dulcemente dramática, el protagonista te inspira amor instantáneo y no puedes dejar de sentir cariño ante la inocente ternura de su dulce corazón.

Pero con forme avanza y llega el final de la historia, sentí que el libro iba perdiendo magia, el dramatismo se vuelve forzado y el protagonista… pasó a desesperarme. ¬¬'

Jack, es un niño abandonado brutalmente al minuto después de nacer por su madre, por ello tiene un corazón débil, por lo que su ‘doctora’ le ha injertado un reloj para mantenerlo latiendo. Ella le advierte que nunca se debe enamorar o enojar, ya que el reloj podría no soportarlo. Pero claro, planear que alguien no se enamore es… imposible. Jack crece y se enamora de una niña de voz hermosa, yyyy es ahí donde comienza la aventura… yyyy por donde se me estropea la historia. A mí.

No digo que el libro sea malo, peeeero sí debo decir que me decepcionó mucho que fuera perdiendo toda esa magia, dulzura y ese aire fatalista que logró en el principio.

Me encantan las historias bizarras, la idea del corazón de reloj es original, todo el mecanismo que sigue para que el prota siga con vida ES original (teniendo en cuenta que un marcapasos a inicios del S. XIX, era imposible), todos los personajes y el ambiente que le rodea es bizarro a más no poder. Hay personajes secundarios con los que te enganchas, como la doctora. Otros personajes que sorprenden (porque no son ni actúan como creías) y unos cuantos que pasan desapercibidos.

En fin… es un libro con un inicio genial, con un contenido no tan genial y un final que sí llega a sorprender pero que no me llegó a gustar del todo. Como siempre les digo, ésta reseña es solo mi opinión, nada como leer un libro y tener tu propia opinión de él, además que es una historia cortita que se puede leer en una tarde ;)

Als ich das Cover zum ersten Mal sah, waren meine ersten Gedanken: WoW, das MUSS ich allein schon wegen diesem wunderschönen Buchdeckel lesen und sollte in meinem Bücherregal nicht fehlen! ;)
Dank der Leserunde mit Brina habe ich es auch ziemlich schnell gelesen, doch das was mich dort erwartete hat mich doch eher enttäuscht als mit Freude erfüllt! :(

Schon der Anfang hat mich stutzen lassen: Jack, der noch nicht einmal ansatzweise von seiner Mutter geboren wurde, beschreibt wie sich seine Mutter kurz vor der Geburt gefühlt hat, wie er sich in dem Bauch seiner Mutter gefühlt hat und in welcher Situation sich beide befunden haben. Mir doch etwas zu skurril und unrealistisch, dass mir ab diesem Punkt das Weiterlesen schon etwas schwergefallen ist. :(
Jack wird schnell älter und immer komischer. Er lebt in einer Traumwelt, da er die echte nie so wirklich kennengerlernt hat… Seine Ersatzmutter Doktor Madeleine ist daran jedoch nicht minder Schuld. Sie versucht ihn von der Realität fern zu halten, damit die Mechanik seines Herzens nicht kaputt geht: die Kuckucksuhr, die seinem Herzen hilft Jack am Leben zu halten. So kommt es auch, dass Jack auch schon mit 10 Jahren eine, sorry, abartige Faszination von Brüsten und Frauen hat, die zu 90% Kinder in seinem Alter nicht haben.
Diese Reaktion hat mich total abgeschreckt, sodass ich das Buch am liebsten abgebrochen hätte. Dank der Leserunde habe ich es dann doch nicht getan und mich selbst gezwungen weiter zu lesen! :(
Auch Miss Acacia ist eine Persönlichkeit, die ich ab und zu lieber an die Wand geschmissen hätte! Sie tut dem kleinen Jack nicht gut: sie ist distanziert, oberflächlich und arrogant! Ich verstehe nicht, was Jack an ihr so toll findet! Ist es nur ihr Körper und die unglaublichen tollen Brüste, die ihm zuerst aufgefallen sind als er sie zum ersten Mal gesehen hat?

Der Schreibstil ist toll, jedoch für diese Art von Geschichte leider nicht passend. Ich habe mich einfach nicht wohlgefühlt und konnte mit keiner Figur und der gesamten Handlung nicht warm werden! Schade, denn das Potential war eigentlich da, doch an der Umsetzung hat es noch gehapert!

Das Cover ist wunderschön und wichtigsten Aussagen aus diesem Buch wurden perfekt auf diesem Bild eingearbeitet und abgebildet!! ♥ Es ist ein absolutes Highlight in jedem Bücherregal, auch wenn mich der Inhalt nicht ganz so überzeugen konnte!

Fazit:

Das Buch konnte mich nicht überzeugen! Die Figuren und die gesamte Geschichte sind unglaubhaft und haben mir dem Spaß beim Lesen des Buches genommen! So leid es mir tut, kann ich dieses Buch nicht weiterempfehlen.
Dank des wunderschönes Covers, der netten Idee und dem schönen, doch leider unpassenden Schreibstils, bekommt dieses Buch gaaaanz knappe 3 Sterne.(less)

Aber eines Tages schlägt Jack tatsächlich zurück, muss aber daraufhin fliehen und packt die Gelegenheit nach Miss Acacia zu suchen. Mich hat es sehr verwundert, dass er während des gesamten Buches nicht einmal daran gezweifelt hat, was Madeleine ihm erzählt hat, ich würde mich nicht damit abfinden können niemals lieben zu dürfen.

Wie schon erwähnt ist Jack der Übeltäter in der Geschiche, denn er machte Jack nicht nur während der Schulzeit das Leben zur Hölle. Allerdings kann ich ihn auch ein Stück weit verstehen, denn es ist ganz natürlich, dass man seine große Liebe nicht einfach so aufgibt, nein man kämpft dafür, auch mit unfairen Mitteln, falls nötig.

Miss Acacia war mir nicht direkt unsympathisch, aber sie wirkte auf mich sehr eitel und ich fand es nicht immer ganz fair, wie sie mit Jack umgegangen ist. Am Ende der Geschichte jedoch konnte sie mächtig Pluspunkte sammeln und ich war richtig gerührt von ihrem "Geständnis".

Madeleine erschien mir als sehr gute und fürsorgliche Mutter für Jack, auch wenn er nicht ihr leibliches Kind ist, so hat sie es dennoch genauso behandelt und Jack war ihr auch sehr zugewandt und hat sie so geliebt, wie Kinder ihre Mütter lieben.

Insgesamt war es eine schöne Geschichte für zwischendurch, leider fand ich sie an manchen Stellen ein bisschen zu kurz geraten und ich hätte gern mehr erfahren über die einzelnen Personen, am Ende des Buches musste ich feststellen, dass ich eigentlich nur über Jack richtig viel wusste, die anderen Personen wurden eigentlich nur mehr angerissen. Auch das Ende war ziemlich schnell abgehandelt, was ich sehr schade fand. Positiv fiel mir auf, dass es eine Geschichte ohne Happy End ist, zumindest gab es für mich keines. Das hat man bei Büchern ja auch relativ selten, denn die meisten Leser wollen Bücher die gut enden, oder lesen nur Bücher mit einem glücklichen Ende.

Fazit
Also es ist meiner Meinung nach kein Buch für Leser die ein Happy End brauchen, also Finger weg! Allen anderen kann ich das Buch sehr zum Lesen für zwischendurch empfehlen!(less)

If you're a fan of this book then stop reading now! You won't like what I'm about to say...

Maybe it's the writing or maybe it's the translation but I really did not like the way this book was written. The entire way through it was as though Malzieu was telling me a story instead of showing me one, and that is a writing style which I personally can only ever tolerate in short stories.

Este libro lo leí hace mucho tiempo, y siendo sincera no recuerdo demasiados detalles de él. Lo que si recuerdo es que iba con cierto recelo porque me lo imaginaba mas infantil, pero ha resultado ser bastante más adulto.

A veces uno se deja engañar por las portadas de los libros, al ver una portada animada piensas que puede ser un libro infantil pero al leerlo te sorprende totalmente, esa es la magia de los libros.

First things first: this is a review of the audio edition. This was also my first Jim Dale listen (Pushing Daisies voiceover aside) - I know! I know! The horror! The SIN! But there you have it.

Malzieu, ha compiuto un piccolo miracolo letterario, un incanto raro e prezioso di questi tempi.
Per questo e altri motivi che cercherò di sintetizzare, valgono le 5 stelle piene e convinte.
Chiariamoci non è un capolavoro di letteratura, ma arriva così di rado nella vita di una persona, un libro capace di rendere le ore di lettura poesia delicata e ovattata dolcezza, che quando lo trovi, ringrazi la sorte per averlo incontrato nel tuo cammino di lettore.

While I don't speak french much less understand it, I was able to find an english version of this book.

So there I was, on my sickbed, just finished reading a sad book but with a happier ending, thinking on what to do and where to go where my feet can't take me. "Die Mechanik des Herzens" ist ebenso originell und einzigartig wie Filme von Tim Burton.
Mathias Malzieu erzählt ein Märchen für Erwachsene über das Leben und die Liebe. Dabei ist diese Liebe authentisch, aber auch düster.
Schon der Klappentext klingt einfach zauberhaft und einmalig, so mag es auch keinen verwundern, das die Umsetzung ebenso herausragend zu lesen ist.
Der Leser wird Teil der Geschichte, auch wenn diese leider viel zu kurz und zu schnell zu Ende ist.
Viele überraschende Wendungen halten die Geschichte zusätzlich am Leben. Neben der Poesie und der nachdenklich stimmenden Geschichte benötigt "Die Mechanik des Herzens" keine spannungsgeladene Handlung um zu überzeugen.
Man lernt von diesem Buch viel über das Leben und die Grausamkeiten die es bereithält.
Jeder, der bereit ist, das Besondere, das zwischen den Zeilen zu finden ist, zu entschlüsseln und sich auf eine poetische, etwas andere Geschichte einzulassen, wird mit einer wunderschönen, aber auch sehr authentischen Lektüre belohnt.

Jack ist ein sympathischer, sehr sensibler und verträumter Held. Miss Acacias erschien mir dagegen in ihrer Art sehr eitel und lieblos, was aber ein wichtiger und authentischer Aspekt der Handlung ist, denn Liebe ist oft nicht rosarot und beidseitig bedingungslos.
Auch die vielen weiteren Charaktere sind sehr einzigartig und unterschiedlich skizziert. Durch diese Authentizität gewinnt die Geschichte zusätzlich an Reife und becirct durch harten Realismus, der das Leben so widerspiegelt, wie es ist.

Mathias Malzieu besitzt eine bildgewaltige und lebendige Sprache. Er lässt die Sätze vor Augen treten und schafft es mit viel Poesie einer einmaligen Geschichte Leben einzuhauchen. Mit viel Melancholie erlebt der Leser zusammen mit Jack das gesamte Gefühlsspektrum. Die Beschreibungen des Autors sind ebenso einzigartig wie schön, sie schaffen Kopfkino und werden noch zusätzlich durch die Metaphern, die nicht nur zwischen den Zeilen zu finden sind, unterstützt.

Das Cover springt sofort ins Auge und kann nur als wunderschön bezeichnet werden. Mit viel Detailverliebtheit und ebenso viel Feingefühl wurde dieses Cover gestaltet, indem die Melancholie des Buches mitschwingt.

Edimburgo, finais do século XIX. Jack nasce no dia mais frio do mundo e o seu coração congela, deixando de bater. Felizmente a parteira, a Dra. Madeleine, dá-lhe um novo coração, um relógio de cuco ao qual tem de se dar corda todos os dias. E assim Jack é salvo, mas não é, de todo, uma criança vulgar. Qualquer emoção forte pode despoletar uma crise, fazer o coração bater depressa demais, estragar o relógio. Jack não pode, acima de tudo, apaixonar-se.

Uma vez que tem um relógio como coração, Jack não é adoptado e vive com a Dra. Madeleine, que o protege do mundo exterior. Mas todas as crianças crescem e Jack não é excepção. Depois de conhecer uma dançarina de grandes olhos negros Jack apaixona-se perdidamente e o seu coração está em risco. Quanto estará Jack disposto a arriscar, por amor?

Como disse acima, a história de "A Mecânica do Coração" é bastante simples e directa. É a viagem de descoberta de Jack, a sua gradual aprendizagem das mecânicas do coração que dão valor a este livro. A prosa alterna sendo intrincada (quase poética) nalgumas passagens e mais corrente noutras. Confesso que não percebi muito bem se as referências modernas espalhadas pelo livro (Charles Bronson? Plástico?) foram intencionais; considerando que algumas são flagrantes, diria que sim, mas sinceramente não achei que fossem necessárias.

Este livro é muito atmosférico e tem uma beleza muito própria e penso que é o que encanta os leitores (pelo menos foi o que me encantou a mim). Algumas partes pareceram um bocado forçadas, mas no geral foi uma leitura agradável, algo bizarra mas intrigante. (less)

I must say it's the first book that I read before reading any review. And I don't regret it.

I think it does well as a fairytale, as many say; it's creative, and different. Then, why is people so annoyed with anachronisms? Some of they may be mistakes, but others... Others can only be made deliberately, or the author doesn't really know where he lives. And I don't think this happens.

The Boy with the Cuckoo Clock Heart goes through love. It is basically a love story. What makes this love story unique is the boy who was born with a normal heart but did not grow up with a normal heart,in a sense. Jack was brought to life by a prostitute who couldnt afford a doctor. This short novel, a translation from the French, follows a young man who was born with a frozen heart on the coldest night on earth. The midwife, a childless woman who tinkers with mechanics as well as with human flesh, installs a cuckoo-clock in the boy’s chest as a sort of gear driven pace maker. I fell in love with its cover, when I saw it, I knew that I wanted to read it. Some months later when I run into it in a bookshop, I grabbed it immediately... :)

This book starts out as a magical fairy tale with a childless witch doctor saving the life of a new born baby by installing a cuckoo clock to keep his heart going. The charming and ecentric cast of characters protect Jack as he grows, with the doctor warning him of the dire consequences of falling in love. Naturally, Jack ignores her warnings and from there the tale gets much darker and more sinister.

Found this in the library (it was translated to English in 2009 as The Boy with the Cuckoo-Clock Heart) and instantly was attracted to it. It's short, novella length, and I blew through it in a couple of days. This is probably the first true magical realism book I've read, and I enjoyed it a great deal. The Boy With the Cuckoo-Clock Heart is an adult fairy tale on love and heartbreak. At first I wasn't sold, perhaps even a little annoyed, the story was filled with flowery art writing (yawn) and just a bit too dramatic. But, I have to say it slowly grew on me, and in the end I liked it. Reviews seem to be mixed.

**Cercando il titolo originale ho scoperto che l'autore è un autore per caso, visto che nasce come cantante.. ._. E ciò spiega molto!**

Ero psicologicamente preparata a trovarmi di fronte ad un caso editoriale costruito a tavolino, quindi ammetto di essere rimasta (per lo più!) gradevolmente sorpresa e stupita. Anzi, dirò di più! Per la prima metà, il libro si sarebbe addirittura meritato 4 stelline..

Ero psicologicamente preparata a trovarmi di fronte ad un caso editoriale costruito a tavolino, quindi ammetto di essere rimasta (per lo più!) gradevolmente sorpresa e stupita. Anzi, dirò di più! Per la prima metà, il libro si sarebbe addirittura meritato 4 stelline..

Ho letto tante di quelle stroncature da ritenerlo io stessa un libro di serie B, invece come lettura rilassante da fine anno (il mio cervello si rifiuta categoricamente di iniziare un libro corposo il 31 dicembre per poi portarmelo all'anno nuovo..) ci può stare!
Come dicevo, l'inizio è scoppiettante, promette mari e monti e ti cattura nella sua morsa: Madeleine uno scienzato aggiustatutto (anche gli esseri umani!!) fa nascere i bambini indesiderati, quelli delle prostitute, delle madri troppo giovani o delle donne troppo fedifraghe. Nella notte più fredda del lontano 1874, nasce Jack il cui cuore è troppo debole per funzionare da solo. Ecco quindi che Madeleine vi inserisce (le dinamiche non mi sono del tutto chiare, lo ammetto!!) un orologio a cucù. Jack cresce quindi come una specie di fenomeno da baraccone, anche se viene tenuto in isolamento sul cucuzzulo della collina più alta di Edimburgo dove Madeleine ha il suo 'laboratorio'. Un giorno in città incontra una cantante dalla voce così bella, melodiosa e perfetta che se ne innamora pazzamente (Ha dieci anni all'epoca. Non capisco come sia possibile provare un amore dirompente a questa età, ma magari sono io che sono una tardona e a dieci anni il mio unico cruccio era se giocare con le Barbie o con i Lego..). Pur di ritrovarla, si iscrive a scuola dove diviene il bersaglio prediletto delle derisioni dei compagni. La piccola Miss Acacia non c'è e dopo aver ciecato un suo rivale in amore, tal Jack, viaggia per tutta l'Europa per ritrovarla.
Oh. Bene.
Come detto, la prima parte è carina, è strana, è conturbante. Mi ha fatto sorridere, stranire, meravigliare e invidiare a Malzieu (pseudo scrittore, rendiamoci conto!) le sue doti nel raccontare alcuni episodi, di mettere insieme alcune frasi e di farmi immaginare tante cose.
Poi pian piano, ciò che era decollato così bene, comincia a disintegrarsi e a cadere miseramente a terra.. La seconda parte - pur avendo letto il libro intero in poche ore, è più lento, meno sensazione, assai meno realistico (per quanto lo possa essere una storia in cui un bambino ha come protesi un orologio a cucù, ovvio.)
E il finale.. Io miss Acacia l'avrei riempita di schiaffi, giuro!
Non l'ho capito, lo ammetto ._.
Comunque sia, ci sono molti passaggi poetici e degni di esser ricordati. Alcune idee poi sono veramente, veramente geniali!!
Insomma, se avete un po' di tempo libero da dedicare ad un libricino piccolino e volete stupirvi un po', leggete la prima parte di questo libro! Poi chiudetelo e mantenete il bel ricordo, che tanto a leggere la seconda non guadagnate niente! :DD
Che si tratti di metterne a punto la meccanica o di ripararlo prendendosi il tempo di parlare, a lei piace aggiustare il cuore della gente.

"Non ti preoccupare per me, ne ho perfino troppi. Tu ancora non lo sai, ma un giorno ti farà piacere aprire lo zaino e trovare un ricordo dell'infanzia."
"Un giorno in cui ho pianto molto, mi sono accorta che bere le lacrime consolava, soprattutto se mischiate a un pò di alcol di mele. Ma non bisogna prenderle quando siamo del solito umore, altrimenti non riusciremmo più a essere allegri senza berle e diventa un circolo vizioso: non smettiamo più di piangere per poter bere le nostre lacrime."
